In all honesty, the flaws in the roster can get remedied fast with Bryan Abreu and Verlander coming back... that knocks 2 scrubs off the 25-man roster with instant upgrades...

Just imagine all the passed balls Maldy would have surrendered with the wildness of this bullpen...

Can we offer Stroud a 3 month contract until training camp starts?
His one appearance at MMP and he lit it up.

(or at least bring in ol' trustee, Tricky Nicky, to lock down some 1-yr deals w some agents/players)

We have had a 26 man roster for some time now.

Of course, but it still doesn't change getting healthy will knock the scrubs to oblivion.

We have two scrubs at 1st base, none returning from injury.
Both need to be traded or released and replaced by Loperfido at 1st base & Leon at bench outfielder.
Four scrubs in the pen, none returning from injury
Verlander returning gives us a six man rotation and eliminates 1 scrub probably Scott.
Urquidy returning moves Blanco to the pen and eliminates another scrub probably Martinez.
Two scrubs left in the pen. It is false economy to keep Montero hoping he will somehow recover his usefulness. His value goes down every day. It will never be cheaper to let him go than it is today. Add Whitcomb and Julks to him and trade him. That will give some middling team a couple of really nice bats and maybe even their shortstop of the future. Or just eat as much of his salary as you have to and move him now. It is difficult but it is the right thing to do. That leaves us with one scrub in the pen. We can live with that.

Leon can't even get the start in SL. The love affair with Julks in this organization is un-matched. I wouldn't have a problem with Julks if he weren't a lesser version of both McM and Meyers. If he even batted LH it would be better and different. Leon has the same power (same RH bat though) but at least offers speed and the ability to play all 3 Of positions and 2b in a pinch.

Coming into this year, I was bullish on them. I had them winning about 20 games out of 162. So far, that tracks. No, they will not win a game this season. Unless we pray the rosary.

I hate to admit it but that is a very nice looking ring and the ROAD using the opponents logos is cold and very clever!

    Open the GD ROOF!!!
It’s Spring time… perfect weather for these games. Keep it closed June-most of Sept (weather permitting).
These are asinine, ignorant choices that could have a better effect on the hitting woes. Also would make for better views (inside/outside) of the park. Baseball is meant to be played on fields, outdoors… not in warehouses.

ITS THE ONLY THING THAT HASNT BEEN EXPLORED TO EVEN TRY AS A REMEDY TO GIVE THIS TEAM AN ADVANTAGE / BOOST IN THEIR PITIFUL HOME WINS. Whoever’s in charge of that decision needs to be kicked in the nuts and poked in the eyes.
