Doesn't feel like it at all.
    • Opened up first during Covid, while California was still stuck in a loop of useless, evil, authoritarian lockdowns.
    • Much lower taxes than California (hint: higher taxes give government bureaucrats more power)
    • "Censorship" - not at all, unless you insist on distributing p*rn to small children.
    • Cancel culture? I don't see it, at all. When I see people making pig noises in San Francisco when a Jewish relative of October 7th victims speaks...yeah, that's evil.

Thanks for your in-depth analysis, as usual.

You want analysis of your statement that you're not familiar with anarcho-capitalism, but you know it's better than "big government"?

OK, it seems to me that stating that one thing you don't understand is better than another thing you don't understand is a bit hubristic.

    Anything is better than communism.

There is no "pure" system that executes 100 % of any economic theory, really. But what I observe is that governments across the world have become more authoritarian and that bureaucracies keep growing. It's inherent in their nature. If you don't do anything to correct it, the ratio of public spending vs. GDP will only keep going up and up and up and up, forever. Because bureaucrats always want to feed themselves first.

So the pendulum needs to swing back to more economic freedom and allowing entrepreneurship to thrive.

Free markets are better than communism.

All these statements are directional, and not absolute.

I do have an MBA from a school that is famous for favouring free market economics.

So I probably spent more time on the subject at large than you have - but I will not pretend to be familiar with all nuances of anarcho-capitalism.

But if a clearly intelligent guy like Milei says reading some of Rothbard's stuff influenced him greatly, it piques my interest.

Whether "big government" or anarcho-capitalism is better largely depends on how much resources you have to defend your life, liberty, and property at any given moment.

Higher government expenditure and taxes do not equate to higher safety and security for citizens.

See: Oakland, San Francisco, New York.

I can agree with a lot of that and do feel that there is a lot of areas of over regulation and outdated regulations.

That said just because I think there are several building codes that are too strict doesn’t mean we should fire building inspectors and throw out code books.

Painting things as being either Communism or Anarcho Capitilism / Libertarian is just ideological whiplash and as you note not everything is pure.

Florida and California (specifically De Santis and Newsom) are two sides of the same "make speech that we don't like illegal" coin. Too busy to defend this statement now, but will later. It's not a shocking nor incorrect statement, imo.

    Isn't a anarcho-capitalism basically manorialism?
