Surprised he's still unsigned. Would he cost all that much? Or are we really hell bent on not doing much luxury tax?

 

His agent is the Boras...he'll cost a lot.

 

Do you think he would cost a lot even like 5 mins before the season starts? I'm genuinely asking since he's running out of time to sign to probably start the season on time.

 

I think the next tier of the tax is a very real issue.

 

... as are his + his agent's position on contract demands/length.

 

You know he's gonna cave and get a one year deal somewhere cheap.

I don't know what offers Montgomery had out there in the winter, but this could end up being a huge misplay by his camp.

When you look at his career number and peripherals, he's just a solid pitcher not a top guy. He will also be turning 32 next year, one season where he underperforms his peripherals instead of overperforms (or is outright bad) and he could be looking at slim pickings.

Well, kind of . Turns out I was wrong , haha. One year, $25 million is not cheap. I guess $25 mill would have ****ed us on LT pretty good. Ahh well.
