The idea that the Rockets can't run with Sengun on the court is just false. The formula is still going to be: Defend and use stops for opportunities to run. The difference will be that when things slow down, especially against better competition, we will have Sengun to run offense.
kind of reminds me when Yao Ming broke his foot midway and the Rockets went on to win 22 straight games, some people here started asking if the Rockets are better without Yao Rockets were 4-1 before Sengun went down, now 9-1 and 7 games winning streak (5 without Sengun), let's hope it initiated a 12-game winning streak at least
Absolutely not. Heck no. That said under no circumstances should we even consider bringing Sengun back this season. I don't care if we catch absurd fire and push the Nuggets/Thunder to 7.
Yup. We need both, and Jalen even said it recently: "We can do both..." And in the playoffs when things slow down, we will need both. Still, I'd like to see Jalen and Alperen BOTH raise their 3PT% to create space for each other.
What’s with the not so subtle racism popping up everywhere all a sudden? Would it be cool to say OTHER WHITE MEAT BABY, BLACK ANGUS I TELL YOU, or YELLOW FRIED RICE MFER, if the shoe was on the other foot?
It's all about sets and rotation. There are things they can do better with him not on the floor but they can run those sets while he is on the bench
Folks who were crying for Jalen to be traded, now want to talk about keeping everyone together now that a win streak popped up. Dumped on Jalen when he said coach isnt using him right, now he is playing open and the team is winning. 1 + 1
He's playing better because he is playing more like the coaches have wanted him to play all along, not because the coaches suddenly decided they were misusing him. He was playing better before Sengun got hurt too.
Coach was using him the same, but he was turning it over or bricking it for the 90% of the season. Sengun offense started this season because of his (JG) lack of offense. Against an average team, he needed 22 shots for 24. Against a good team, he will be back to his season averages.
Absolutely not better without him, I look at this injury as a blessing in disguise though. It made the others to step up and I’m glad they did. We should be in the playoffs next year if everyone plays like that.
It's something that has been in the discourse for a while in terms of play style but we really need to re-evaluate how we play WITH Sengun. I hope this turns the lights on in Udoka to use Sengun as the Senhub where the play is started with him and distributed to all our scoring options instead of using him as the focal point finisher. Sengun should be north of 6 assists every single night instead of chasing 20-25 points. Hopefully he can work on his 3pt% all off-season to be a viable threat from the top of the key because if that happens then we will have a top 5 offense.
The real question is would we be better with Sengun getting the ball less? That is the style change that has happened, less center centric and more wing centric play, now we all know Alpi is a super smart cookie so he CAN play like this, but will he? He won't get his post touches until it is the 2nd unit time, or not nearly as many, and he will need to play off the ball a lot more, and have a 3pt shot....because that is what the Rox are doing different and having success....it is a wide open lane now.....but I think it could make the entire team a whole lot better.....when Alpi is back. DD
We are all racist to a degree but most of us are not admitting that...keep it to a minimum or zero. Some of those are not racist but could be racially motivated........at least not innocent.
