    @Os Trigonum

    Is calling someone's dogs skinny one of the most disrespectful things you can do in the sledding game ?

    doesn't hurt the dogs' feelings . . . most dogs have a positive body image ;)

    the skinny dogs are built for sprint racing. At 25 miles this race is considered mid-distance, so you'll see 'registered' breeds (huskies, Siberians, etc) as well as sprint dogs. Sprint dogs are generally some kind of mix of German shorthair pointer and greyhound ('greysters') or shorthair and other scenthound or sighthound mix ('eurohounds'). Some of the dogs at this race have a fair amount of saluki mixed in, which adds a bit more endurance for distance compared to the greyhound mixes.

    Can't help it, but I think about Jim Rome back in the 90's calling it the "Ikilledadog" Race

    3-day race in Alaska, won by 1.2 seconds over the second-place musher
