I like this possibility. It makes sense, especially if we draft a RB this year or next. Henry's mammoth frame makes him the perfect solution to the Texans' woes in short-yardage situations. Henry has roughly 40 pounds on 2023 starter Devin Singletary, and pairing the two together—assuming Houston re-signs Singletary—could maximize the efficiency of both players. Henry's annual contract value has the potential to exceed that of Barkley, but at 30 years old, a higher-priced, shorter-term deal is a realistic possibility. Such a scenario could be ideal for the Texans, who have ample flexibility for next season but will eventually have to make a decision on the future of No. 1 receiver Nico Collins, who is set to hit free agency in 2025. https://www.lmtonline.com/sports/texans/article/saquon-barkley-texans-derrick-henry-18707494.php
Yeah if that’s the going rate for a DT draft Murphy in round 1 and Sweat in round 2. Use your money to address other areas of need.
Danielle Hunter appears to be another guy like WAJ who is called a CB in a 3-4, but plays where you would expect an OLB. But plays essentially as a DE in our 4-3 base. The position confusion makes keeping track of needs among the available players lists a bit tedious. It appears DH could play either opposite WAJ at DE or DSJ at CB.
I'd love a Braelon Allen and Singletary combo instead of paying Saquon Barkey. We can use that money somewhere else. Braelon Allen is big and patient, reading the blocks to find a hole. I like the bigger backs.
I'm suspicious they see the Texans as the Bank they are robbing. I'd love to come to Houston, it's where I can get PAID and take the rest of my career off.
This sounds good too if Texans don't get Barkley. Singletary + Swift makes a much improved backfield. Of course those 2 together will cost more than just Barkley himself. Hopefully we hear some rumors on Monday.
