We need a strength and conditioning coach. Feels like that's our biggest weakness.

So who gets win #6 on the road first? Houston or Detroit the two worst road teams in the league

I don’t know what their practice schedule is, but it’s gotta be they can practice more at home than on the road.

    Combination of things.

Rockets got a lucky patch of the schedule early on & lucky shooting which burnished their home record to make them appear better than they actually were.

They also had a "phase 2 boost" with a new coach, new players when other teams were still waking up in November.

Since late December, when they're basically .500 at home and crap on the road; this is a much less confusing paradigm.

Like, bad losses to tanking Blazers teams at home is much more on-brand for this current crew than beating Denver 2x.

Rockets are 20-10 at home now. Does anybody think that they're going to win 2/3 of their remainign home games? Or are they going to be closer to .500 which they have been for the last 2 months.

I see us winning 7 more games this year and finishing up at 32-50.

No playoffs until next year. As I've been saying since pre-season, we never had a realistic chance at even a play-in shot this year. Anyone who thought otherwise was dreaming.

Confidence, mental fragility, defensive inconsistency, lack of shot making, bad game preparation, all of the above? Can only speculate really.

No Spirit of Severo on the road. Easy.

In my experience there are two types of players who struggle on the road:

    - shooters who can’t do anything else
    - young players

We have a lot of young players. More than you would historically find in a rotation looking to compete. So it makes sense to me that they would struggle heavily on the road. Not really worried about it, it’s something that goes away when experience normalizes things.

Thought I'd bump this thread so you could all give me the credit I so richly deserve for the sweet reverse jinx.

In the 16 days since my above post, the Rox have already matched my prediction for wins to finish the season, having gone 7-1 since I predicted they'd go 7-16.

Don't misunderstand, I'm thrilled to be so utterly wrong (for once).

Shout out to @RooshWilliams - he must have been working the phones till the switchboard overheated to get the team to respond in the way they have
