Love it and this is exactly the type of trades I am all for. Keep adding players that elevate the current talent pool without giving up 1st round picks. Perfect combo with Sengun and maybe also gives Sengun more incentive this summer to develop a 3 point shot to maybe slide to the 4 at times later in his career. A Sengun Bari Adam’s 3 man big rotation could be really good the next couple seasons if they can keep those 3 together and Adam’s playing at a high level.
Love the trade. We are slowly looking at building a contending team for the immediate future while we have our young budding stars get better and build chemistry with each other. Pieces are mostly in place and it seems they’re still looking to add another impact player. Got to love what they’re trying to do here.
Toughest player in the NBA. Love the idea of Adams here next year... I know he might end up just additional salary in a future trade but he'd be an amazing backup here and occasional starter.
This looks fine. Adams on that salary is worth a couple of 2nds on the trade deadline next year if the Rockets don't use him as bigger trade piece. And presumably when they trade Tate they probably get a couple of meh 2nds back so it will come out to be a wash. The main thing is with how it's being spun in the media though. If the Rockets don't care about next year's capspace, couldn't they have traded KPJ for a longer salary instead? Essentially they traded 5 2nd round picks to go from KPJ to a 2-year filler. Honestly I don't know if I've ever seen a Stone trade where I felt like we got a bargain. Feels like every time we are paying premium.
Uhm, though I like Steven Adam, this trade does not help in making the playoffs this season. And also 2nd round picks can be extremely valuable as stash picks, while players develop overseas. When I first saw the news, it was very exciting, but now knowing Adam’s is out for the season, it’s an okay trade I suppose… ehhh it is what it is.
