The passes to Jalen and Alpi were very impressive. Jabari probably won't be a primary playmaker. But he definitely has the aptitude to make the right pass to set up a better shot for teammates.
On offense, his decision making is really sound this year. He usually makes the right choices, based on what the defense is giving him, and makes them without hesitation so that the opposing team doesn't have time to react. I continue to be impressed by his development on both sides of the ball.
Those who called him a bust his rookie season will hopefully castrate themselves to save the already shitty global gene pool from their further pollution.
His ball control during self creation possessions really impressed me in his return. Not many, but very solid ones. (Dude is really efficient with his in-progress skills, almost never overuses them just to try) I believe these skills are the ultimate contributors to unlock his overall value to the sky. So I am watching that Jabari, keep it up!
NGL I was pissed af last year when Banchero slipped from our fingers but now it is looking like Rox got the right guy as Jabari is playing like a baby JJJ and is the perfect complement next to superstar Baby Jokic Sengun. I am beyond impressed how much he improved halfway into his 2nd season and I think with his work ethic and bball IQ he can Def be the best player in his draft class, even if it has monsters like Banchero, Chet and JDub.
i agree. Its so hard to find players like him who can just score within the flow of the offense and who can play D and rebound. He'll be more valuable than klay thompson on the warriors. I can't wait to see jabari when he gains 20 pounds.
How he’s considered somehow a part of the untouchable core but Jalen is viewed as a bad asset is beyond me.
As much as I have loved Uncle Jeff's leadership this season, we really need a major upgrade at the backup 4/5 position for nights when Jabari (and Sengun) are off. We just got absolutely nothing from our big men tonight.
There's no excuse for Bari tonight. He laid an egg. Sengun struggled too. Nothing from uncle Jeff unfortunately.
I might be going out on a limb here, really crazy stuff I know. Maybe it's because this is the first time in his career Jalen has strung 4 or so positive games together in a row.
Bari can shoot and Jalen is just a volume attempter. If Bari shoots 0% then more than likely the Rockets are losing. Jalen goes now to the basket but his frame would not hold up for 82 games.
He had a bad game against the Pelicans, it is what it is, maybe the ankle was bothering him, or maybe the defense was great, or maybe it just wasn’t his night. Either way, young players are allowed to struggle…even if it looks as ugly as it did tonight for Bari. He’ll rebound (literally). If there’s any player who will figure things out, it is Jabari Smith Jr.
