My goodness, can we pump the brakes on the Sengun fish story? There's not a chance in hell he could score 70 pts at this stage of his career. Did you not see him against Boston? When Porzingis blocked him twice, including an attempted driving layup? Or when he had a smaller guy on him in what should have been a mismatch and instead of shooting over him tried to drive in the lane? Did you see the difficulty he had against Memphis' interior defenders?

Alperen has a lot of potential along with a couple limitations he hopefully can overcome. The major limitation being that his outside shot is very limited. Embid can beat defenders in more ways than Alperen, no team will triple team him 15-20 feet out and he will just shoot over a single defender. Alperen not only can't shoot consistently from outside but does not shoot a jumper, hence why Porzingis blocked him on one attempt from around the foul line. Until he develops a reliable outside shot, and preferably a jumping element to it, he will be relatively defendable (at least to the point of not scoring 70).

I am saying he is on the right route to become like them in 3-4 years, 25 is not old age to be in this route.
He is not in their tier, but for now.
If there is a player in NBA who can be close to Embiid or Jokic level, this player is Sengun.
Wemby and Chet has great skills and will be great players, but they dont have Sengun's basketball iq and court vision.
Alpi still has so much areas to develop, but he is only 21 and already made huge leap.
If he becomes wild card allstar this year and this does not surprise me if it happens, this motivasyon accelerates his leap.

Man, if the bare minimum for Sengun is to be like Embiid and score 70 in a game, well, that's just an incredibly high standard of low statistical probability. To the point that it makes anyone demanding it be the standard look like a total complete dumbass.

Embid is clearly better but i just don't enjoy watching his game like i do Sengun. Embib is kinda boring IMO.

    Consider this a formal challenge:

Do it, Alperen. I dare you.

Sengun's flamingo should count for 15 points. 20 when we are playing OKC.

Here is a more interesting question since Sengun for Embiid clearly makes no sense for either team:

If a young superstar or borderline superstar like SGA, Luka, Tatum, or Haliburton demanded a trade, would you be willing to include Sengun in the deal if push came to shove? Which ones, if any? Why or why not?

Yes to SGA, Luka, and Haliburton. No for Tatum. Playmakers are difference makers in this league. Sengun is a play maker

If Embiid was defended by Sengun, he couldn't have scored 70. ;)

No. We're on our own trip, as is Embiid.

    At age 22, Embiid shot 35% from10-16 ft .
At age 21 Sengun shoots them at 50% clip.
Let players develop. It happens with hard work, repetition and experience

If I was the GM I'd trade anything and anyone to get Luka. I'd trade Sengun for Haliburton head to head as well. But I'd pass on Tatum or SGA.

That sounds awful. I mean it will be the most armchair thing to say but maybe he should give up playing like a guard with a 300 pound ass.
