Kessler would be a nice backup for Sengun.

Not only him but fiery Sexton would also be a nice addition!

I feel bad now considering you couldn't even grasp the Stephen Silas jab.

    Your position makes sense now.

Be careful what you wish for.

Didn't you see the fast break alley oop jam by Kessler?

    Lob threat central!

There are lots of truth in your post but it seems that you ignore something also.

As you said Alp is not at the level of Dwight, Drummond. Even not Mirsad Turkcan, Omer Asik. Ersan had 25 rebounds game also. I don't know who is better rebounder between Ilyasova and Sengun.

But also Sengun will be top 6-8 Under-22 rebounder in NBA history at the end of the season, just competing to pass Shaq and Kevin Garnett. If you think Alp lets teammates to grab the easy balls it's not a small success.
I don't know how to translate to English that Turkish literary description :"sehl-i mumteni". It means to handle/describe complex things in a simplistic way and the observers think it is an easy to do. It is not. Zidane was similar in football (not the hand played American one, real football). As Cruyff said: "Football is simple, the difficulty is to play simple".

Alp's rebounding seems simple. Also kind of efficient. I would like to see his average apg to be higher than rpg but as he can get easily 11 rpg - if not sacrifices on behalf of teammates-my wish seems a long task.

He is the second silent assassin (following Tim Duncan) and rebounding silently.

Sengun is good at boxing out, positioning, reaction time in rebounding. But he is not a good jumper from standing position(also Jabari). And this is almost exclusively the first thing great rebounders do. He sometimes gives away boards, a lesser rebounder would grab and that catches the eye. He is much better than I gave him credit for initially but he will concede those type of boards every now and then. Maybe it will get better as he gets a little stronger and bigger.

Overall the rockets are middle of the pack in number of offensive rebounds given. Considering fvv and green are not good rebounders, Sengun and bari being 21 and less this is not bad at all.

I wanted him with a late pick that year. I thought it was obvious he's the kind of solid, functional, 6-fouls-a-night big that has a 15-year career. He's better than I expected though.

Either Tari or Kessler would be drafted. We were happy at that time for this multiple options. Kessler is good as Tari also. Hope both enjoy a long career.

Sengun is a great offensive rebounder. I think this stat sort of dispels the idea 'he's not great at tracking the ball' or whatever. Sengun is also very active in the box-out tracking stats. Where I see Sengun struggling is his '% player REB when box out' at 47.2%, comparatively: Sabonis, Capela, Jokic, and Mitchell Robinson are all around 70.0%. Players like Gafford, Zach Collins, Porzingis are around the 47.0% mark. I think Sengun could improve here, he needs to improve his box-out technique and start securing a few more of these rebounds he's fighting so hard for. In addition to this, I think the Kevin Love style outlet passes from defensive rebounds are something the Rockets as a team need to wrinkle into their halfcourt dominant offensive style. This could easily get Alpi an extra assist per game with athletes like JG, CW, and AT.

Yeah, when someone says something about Sengun's rebounding, I automatically assume it is about defensive rebounding. He is great at offensive rebounds.

His assists will go up once he has teammates that don't lay enough bricks to rebuild downtown.

To me Sengun's playstyle is like if you combined Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph into one person. Human sized grizzly bear with finesse. Really fun watching him play.

I think FVV said he played with Marc Gasol who was a great defender and "at most half the athlete Alpi is", so there is no reason Alpi cannot become a great defender as well.

We must surround Alpi with great 3-point shooters. Seeing the Celtics role players kill us from 3 while we are 3-11 from three drives me nuts.

Theres one easy fix for improving the 3pt shooting and thats sending Jalen into the sun, and replacing him with literally anyone in the nba with a pulse that can shoot 40% and be better than Jalen at the 3pt shot.

The damage Silas did to Jalen is irreversible.
