With how young he is and the hype he had, it's easy for a team to believe that he can turn it around in a new situation. I could easily see him getting 20+M a season by a desperate team out there with nothing to lose. I mean, ****... it might be us. You rather keep him at a high price than lose him for nothing and potentially see another team reap the rewards.
That is the conundrum but he is too inconsistent to give him more than 25 million either..... If he can fill the Jamal Crawford role, then it would be ideal for him but that is a big question mark.
Why would the Rockets be that desperate?? They have Cam Whitmire who is younger, bigger, stronger and more talented on both ends if the floor than Jalen who is already ready to take his job. Rockets will just say here's a $12 million deal and you are 4th off the bench. If you don't like it, BYE JALICIA.
Would not call him a bust but this is getting awfully close to total destruction at the 2nd Overall Spot. A Scorer who is not really great at Scoring.
Hell of a time to make this comment about his defense. Because today I saw something I have NEVER seen in an NBA game before. Tatum gets the switch on Green and works him in the post and spins baseline... Jalen Green spins away and GOES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTON to Tatum, and Tatum gets the easiest and 1 of his life. Seriously go and watch it again, there are no words to describe this play defensively. 6:43 if memory serves - I can't double check the timestamp because my League Pass doesn't work once a game is finished for some reason.
Exactly. When Cam eats more of his minutes his value will only decrease. The assumption that selling sooner rather than later is selling low is faulty and looks worse all the time.
What are the other deadline moves that Stone made that were not dumping salaries or dumping a player in general
What makes this much worse is that we supposedly had an offer to trade #2 for SGA before the draft, and Stone declined it. SGA on this team we would pretty much be where OKC is in the standings.
I don’t know. It’s why I said it’s an assumption to assume he will necessarily increase his value…especially with another player on the roster nipping at his heels. I see it presented here all the time that selling now is absolutely selling low….and I’m not sure that’s the likely scenario but I’m really sure it isn’t absolutely true.
It isn't true Max, Jalen still has DEV or POTENTIAL upside on his side....selling now is selling before he is done developing other teams may value him more because of need. DD
On the topic of Green's impending payday, in terms of production, he's literally just Jordan Poole all over again. Unfortunately, Poole got paid near-max money in the offseason before 2022-2023. You do the math.
Mr. Stone or his intern, if you are reading this for trade ideas. Go offer a package centered around Green for Ivey. Detroit needs shooting. We need point guard play. If Eason is needed to get it done, then do it. I don't think Ivey is worth than Green however.
