I think the Jabari and Tari contracts are the more interesting ones. The Rockets defense has been so great with Sengun, Jabari, and Tari already. If the Rockets can get those three with enough left for a 25% max for whichever of Green, Cam, or Amen (or someone in a trade) can provide an offense with Sengun.

Mr Math, please explain how it is so absurd to say you could already project him to be able to average 30/10 with 3 steals if he is already averaging 30.7 /8.8 and 3 steals per 40 mins with his shooting percentages as well....How many ppg/reb/steals would you say that projects to? Did you come to a thread about Cam's potential as a franchise player to hate and say it's not possible? Kobe Bean Bryant played 15 mins per game as a rookie and couldn't do what Cam is doing in 10....He also got to 28.5 ppg as soon as his minutes hit 40 per game. But Kobe wasn't as quick, fast, tall, or athletic as Cam, he just had Mamba Mentality.

I do have a habit for quick judgement on rookies. Just this summer I said on this board that rookie Paolo was like halfway between rookie Shaq and Rookie Grant Hill. Look how silly that statement looks after his last few games. Also, after the first few games I saw Hakeem play, I said he could be the greatest of C of all-time. I said the same with Shaq. I've also said young Jokic could be as good as Arvydas Sabonis, and Luka could be as good as Dirk at times.

Also, after looking at Kobe I think you might be on to something with him averaging 40 or 50 in time. It isn't nearly as hard to score 40 in the NBA as it used to be. Prime Jordan or Kobe would probably do so easily. As good as Cam has looked there are still a couple areas he can improve if not much. He really just has to get better at drawing more fouls and hit his freethrows a lot better. Cutting down turnovers would be good too. I'm sure once he gets used to the speed and physicality of the NBA he will be fine though lol.

Cam is great at scoring but he needs to move the ball. He's averaging 1 assist every 4 games lol.

Cam too smart to try to drive in against 3 or 4 guys or dribble into trap defenses. He makes the play the coach would want, if they take away the drive take the open jumper or pass, knock down open shots, beat the trap with an early pass, Move with out the ball, Get good position, Hustle for loose balls and putbacks, turn defense to offense, Catch the defender flatfooted and make him pay, He takes what the defense gives him and makes the game easy. If are we comparing him to Green how many of those things does Green do consistently?

He made some good passes today but also some rookie mistakes here and there. His offensive potential is through the roof, it's very easy to see. Really excited to see his growth.

Honestly, I already think Cam is better than Green. Unless Green makes a jump before AS game I think Cam should start getting the lion's share of the minutes with the starters after the AS break.

This is the type of drive where if this was Jalen, I could easily see him trying to dribble the ball in between Jaquez and Robinson, resulting in either turning the ball over or trying to make a much more difficult layup.

He definitely feels like more of a threat as a scorer, that's for sure. As a secondary ball handler... I don't know. Should see him start a few games to be certain.

It doesn’t work like that. It’s not gonna be a linear projection. Normally the per minute numbers go down if you go from playing 10 minutes per game to say over 30 minutes per game.

Not to mention today no team game plans him. If/when he becomes a prime scorer, opponents’ best defender will be on him, or even double/triple teams thrown at him.

Not saying he can’t reach those numbers. But it’s not as easy as 10 * 3 = 30.

I actually really like Ime starting him off getting rotation minutes as a small 4 like he has the past few games. It sort of forces the ball out of his hands and makes him really have to think about how he’s going to get involved in plays so it’s not just a black hole.

It also has exposed a bit that he really doesn’t always know where to be and how to make all the reads which is hard for any rookie. Especially the 4 spot which is pretty foreign to a player like him who has always had the ball in his hands.

He’s doing well though with the assignment and my god the potential is through the roof. What’s crazy to me is how strong he is even so young. Few wing rookies at 19 in the history of the NBA had that kind of strength this early. He’s not quite as gifted as Lebron of course but he is Lebron like for sure in his just otherworld like athleticism and just natural strength.

He definitely has a lot to learn, his tunnel vision and rookie mistakes showed a little bit today. However, everything else is exceptional in comparison to Jalen, the explosiveness when driving, the accuracy with the 3 ball, the rebounding, the hustle and defense. It's all just there, even with his random moments where he looks lackadaisical or just trucks 3 players on the way to a charge while 2 other players are wide open. Even with all of that, I still think he can helps us more this season than Jalen. Yes, he is still a rookie in the NBA but his potential is through the roof, even more than Jalen I believe.

Maybe one day Jalen will become an efficient superstar scorer but he is still soft driving to the basket, has weak handles and doesn't know how to maximize his tools. I am more surprised when he scores than when he doesn't, and that's not changed since we drafted him. I was hoping he would turn into JMorant, or Dillard, but he is missing scoring efficiency and true fearlessness driving to the basket. Honestly, Jalen is just a little too soft even in an era when most players are already kinda soft, and unless he mans up a little bit he will not become a superstar, just keep flashing periodically when he randomly happens to be hot. I actually want him to develop but after 2.5 seasons I'm starting to have some doubt he will be able to become one of our top 3 players. I hope I'm wrong and he develops a bag with shiftiness and accuracy to overcome his weaknesses, he certainly has unreal potential and has certainly flashed.

This is a fan forum and I understand wild hopes and dreams are invested into some players. I'm curious when things don't pan out as predicted, how many Cam fans will admit they were wrong vs. those who will blame Udoka, the Rockets and everyone else but the player.
