I like Bridges and all, but considering the price tag that each player would command, I'd much rather trade for Nic Claxton. He's exactly what this team needs from a backup center.

I think the Nets will be buyers at the deadline.

They have a lot of picks they can use to improve their roster; talented players they can package; and expiring contracts to take on salary.

    ((I hope they strike out))

Something like a first round pick for Tyus Jones could be huge for them.
Or a package of picks and players for Donovan Mitchell.

All this talk of giving up multiple young players and picks for Bridges….I’m not feeling it at all. Bridges is a nice player, but so many of our players are just starting to blossom. Unless we’re getting a real star player (no older than 28yrs old), or a really good big man, I’m prefer staying the course and targeting a 2026 championship run. I don’t know what FAs will be available over the next couple of years, but Houston is a lot more desirable than it used to be. We may find some vets who see the dynamic being built here and think it’s a good shot at a deep run or ring.

min summary, don’t get impatient now. The hardest part is over. Let’s play it smart to get another coupe of key pieces, and another year of polish for our 19-22yr olds. It’s happening!

    Backup Center

    Star 2 guard

One of those elevates this roster from play in range to top 4 seed ..... the other, not so much.

They're not getting either of those guys with what they have and Tyus will never go for a single first round pick.

The Nets and Rockets are in a game of chicken. But there's almost nothing the Nets can do to salvage their situation. Bridges is better than anyone they're going to get in the trade market. I can see them maybe trading for Mitchell but they'd have to give up Bridges who'd be perfect for the Cavs. Mitchell/Allen for Bridges/Claxton. The Nets would raise their floor and at least out a decent product on the floor. But they'd be a play-in team for years. Rockets have what the Nets need most. Their picks and swaps back. Especially next year with Cooper in the draft. Rockets could offer this year's first and next year's swap for Claxton/Bridges. That'd be fair.

If not the Rockets need to target a developed junior/senior in the Lively mold this upcoming draft. Someone who can be instant impact off the bench.

Stone shouldn't trade either Thompson or Whitmore. I think they're going to be future stars. If anything we need to trade for a big, not another wing

Trade Jalen Green and a pick and a swap for Bridges...and let them build around Green the number 2 pick.

It'll be interesting to see how good Stone is at reading tea leaves. We should obviously use some of those Nets' picks to upgrade our talent, but at the same time, I'd hate to see us lose out on the chance use one to draft someone in the first half of round one. The question is: Which year's pick for which purpose?

I’d love to try and swing a package around Green and picks in some three way trade with Nets/Cavs to land Mitchell here.

Just found an obscure rule that you cannot re-acquire draft picks that you have traded.
    Rule BR5.49

Not serious, but has it ever been done?

Would rather roll the dice with Green. Let Ime and Co work with him for a few years. Can bench him next year if need be and he can be part of the bench brigade with Tari while Cam starts.

Bridges does not look good trying to create for himself. He isn't Jamal Murray. Definite 4th fiddle vibes.

I think you'd be better off convincing them to sign your boy KPJ, you always maintained he was the one to build around right?

Remember when you didn’t want any draft picks this year? Now you don’t want any this next draft eithe. Nowwww you want said 19 year old 2023 draft pick to be the starter.

    Petridge Farm remembers.

Tyus Jones is an expiring... he isn't bringing back multiple 1sts!!

We will see what BKN does. I bet they do not attempt to reacquire their 2024 first rounder from HOU. They have 8 tradeable firsts and will either stand pat or try to improve.
If they blow it up, it will most likely be to acquire more future picks, not get back their own pick in a weak draft.

Claxton will be a UFA after this season lol. I don't think it's a good idea to trade for him when we can sign him outright.

8 tradable firsts sounds amazing till you realize they are PHX, Miami and Sixers picks lol.

I think Nets are ****ed and Rox gonna get lotto picks till 2028.
