Frustrating injury. This one was pretty avoidable. Thor's foot was completely still throughout the play and Amen was looking right at him. This wasn't landing on another player's foot (like Amen's ankle sprain during the summer league) or getting tangled up. He literally just stepped on Thor's foot. I hope he's more careful going forward.
Iguodala is a best and I’d happily select him with the 4th pick https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/amen-thompson-tank-thread.319456/page-31#post-14653542
Amen is in another tier vs Iggy when it comes to explosiveness. Maybe Iguodala with a much better first step and explosiveness. That would be an incredible player.
Pippen is one of the most hated players by Rockets fans, not because he was washed when we got him but because of his stinking personality. Amen has a much better character. That said, skillset-wise, it's not a bad comp. And they have similar size. Amen is physically more athletic and explosive than Pippen. So theoretically, he has a higher ceiling.
I know people might not like the brother comparison but I was watching the DET game a couple of nights ago (to watch Ausar) and he injured his ankle, laid prone on his back on the court for several seconds and was finally helped off the court limping badly. The announcers wondered how many games he would have to miss. Lo and behold after all that he came back later in that same game and played well! Hope DET didn't get the "durable" twin!
I disagree.... Younger Iggy was very explosive and a leaper... Amen is just faster... I don't think he's better than in any skill tho than Iggy, but best case scenario he could be as good.
Sorry but that's just not true when it comes to forward explosion, Iggy was never as explosive off the dribble as Amen is right now as a rookie. He was just as athletic overall and maybe even roughly as fast but not as good when it comes to acceleration/deceleration. Amen is projecting to beat his man off the dribble regularly in iso, that was never even expected of Iggy at any point in time.
Did Iggy ever have great court vision, I don't quite remember how he played in his 76er days. I just remember he won the dunk contest
Gotta love this board writing off this kid before his career even starts. He will be back, will work hard, and be a positive part of the success of this franchise.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/i/iguodan01.html 19 years and 33% is not bad actually if you factor in how long his career has been ongoing.
