So the forwards for Sactown are pretty soft and I would expect Jabari and Dillon to feast somewhat. The big difference is that whereas last year Green and KPJ would have iced out our forwards after the 1st, now FVV and Green are feeding them throughout the game. And by doing so, it motivates Jabari (and probably Brooks too, although he seems less in need of motivation) to scrap for rebounds and play better D. The bench scoring is our glaring weakness right now, which means all of the starters are playing heavy minutes. Tari will further improve the bench defense and will get us some garbage points, but it isn’t fair to expect him to be a go-to scorer - that’s not his game. I wish we’d see Cam and Nate Williams get 5 minutes each game - I’m sure they both have their deficiencies but they seem the most likely to be scorers in the bench units.
I agree, Jalen has had separate games of doing things well but hasn't had one of his explosive games yet. I have a feeling we'll see a great performance soon
Shoo mercy our bench scored 11 potatoes, 2 tomatoes and 1 onion off the bench? When was the last time our bench only scored 14 points?
He made some really great rotations tonight, which closed the potential for back door cuts. That was until this year a huge Achilles heel for this team, so even though there’s still room for improvement, the team is at least visibly better.
Yea maybe he will fix that ugly shot of his soon. Got that Lonzo Ball shooting form… bring the ball to your left and stick the elbow out to the right Where’s that shooting coach of ours they’re talking about? Overall super excited about the win and the improvement of the team in such a short span of time under Ime. We may be onto something here
Yeah, this is spot on. Having backcourt guys who are willing to involve our forwards and Alpi is making all the difference. The second unit is a concern, but we are undermanned. I have a theory that Udoka sees Whitmore in practice as a little too raw, so he is bringing him on slowly. I think he will get his shot at some point this year. We need Tari, and I agree, Nate Williams deserves a look.
I would still like FVV if he avg 14pts/ 9 assists on 14 FGas. But 22 on 30% should be frowned upon by the coaches. Jabari had it going but not enough shots to feed the hot hand.
agreed, and I hope he figures it out on his drives to the rim soon because they’ve been disappointing so far
Yep, its a matter of time. Its great to know that we have a coach that knows how to develop players like Jalen.
Jalen is a smart player man he’s just SOFT. He needs to get angry when he plays man. And improve his dribbling. I think at this point he’s just going to be a late bloomer. Also I’m done doubting Al-P. He is definitely a multi-time all-star if he keeps improving. Still don’t think he’s a 1 on a contender but I can see him being a 2/3.
