This ad is featured in Sunday's sports section (I think). A pretty class act by Steve. Not to start a controversy, but notice how Steve wishes the Houston Rockets the best of luck. Steve is handling being traded alot more professionally than T-Mac has in my humble opinion. http://adsearch.chron.com/RopAds.aspx?adv=166452&ad=1098388 For full ad click above.
This is indeed a class move by Steve, including wishing the Rockets well. But, as far as TMac's comments on his former team, let's not forget that his former team ran him through the shredder over and over before TMac got fed up and finally said anything even remotely as bad as what the Magic had been saying about him. The Rockets, unlike the Magic with TMac, have thanked and praised Steve since the trade and wished him well and Steve has done pretty much the same to the Rockets after his initial hurt at being traded. So it's really not a fair comparison when one's former team does nothing but bash him after the trade.
The Rockets are a superior franchise when compared to the Magic - do not hold it against t-mac (or SF3 when he wants out of there in a year)
Very classy move by Steve Francis. I see shades of Shaq and his loyalty to fans in LA. Anyways, good luck to Stevie and his foundation. Houston will always be his home.
Very Classy. It brings to mind a thread not to long ago that asked the question: Should we cheer Steve Francis or Boo him when he comes back to Houston? I certainly hope the man gets a nice round of applause when he comes back. Very classy move on Steve’s part. He just did more to keep me as a fan with that article then anything he ever did on the floor.
Its classy but did he really have a choice? He wanted to advertize his Slamfest. I guess he could have advertized without the thank you to Houston. Would he have done the thank you if he didn't have the Slamfest?
Exactly. Was Shaq trying to sell tickets to anything in his thank you to LA? (I realize the most of the money generated is going to charity.)
Maybe he just wanted to do both. What does it matter? A thank you is still a thank you even if he does throw in a plug for his event.
I will always cheer him and Mobley even when they play against us. Steve appreciates all the help that he has gotten over the years and didn't want to leave the Rockets. I'm sad to see him go but it was neccessary.
It's not a thank you if you're just doing it to promote yourself. But I don't think he did it just to promote himself.
Are you just being a jackass for the sake of being a jackass? It was a classy move on the part of Steve. First and foremost, he could have taken that scholarship program to Orlando and told Houston to f*^* off. Instead, he continues to help the community. I was happy for the trade. I think the Rockets are better off and so is Steve, Cat and Cato. I still respect them even though they are no longer Rockets.
