Rockets could win 5 games and still won’t get the #1 pick in the draft

The OP said he did not actually know Matas Buzelis that well. He played in some games in Chicago at the same time as a nephew of mine. He has a good work ethic and excellent poise for such a young man.

Really good shooter, can put it on the floor some and a good enough passer, probably be a decent rebounder as a 2/3 but I don't know if he has the physicality do it at the 4 ..... 6'11" or not you can forget about him as a 5.

Have to hope he isn't Jalen Green on Defense. No one can be that bad can they?!

I'm not certain he goes #1 but he's probably on the short list of potential players along with Sarr, Edwards & Holland, at least in the early going.
Buzelis & Holland both on the G league Ignite, could limit the usage of one or the other. Will be interesting to watch that squad this season ....

They aren’t paying Ime 7 million to tank, if we get a top 4 pick it will be luck.

Like what I see BUT LOVE what Im hearing! 2.5 steals and 1 blk per game. The Rockets need length!!

    Either him or Sarr

You’re talking about length but he’s the same size as Sengun whom you seem to always talk down about his height.

You know, I really wasn't going to comment but you do know they play different positions, correct? You do know that 6'10 for a WING, is much more different than 6'10 for a center??

And Im glad you know Sengun is 6'10

But with him, Jabari and Amen it just might negate Sengun's lack of height in the paint

I'm not a fan of Buzelis. Can't shoot, 29.5% from 3 in the GLeague. We already have Amen as our resident guy who can't shoot we can't add another bricklayer to the lineup.

And the thing is Buzelis is from GLI ever since GLI started there hasn't been a single prospect who came out there who didn't disappoint and appear raw AF.

I've been looking at draft profile for each player in the top 10 for the 2024 draft, no one really impresses.

I'm sure there will be a hidden gem somewhere but on the outset, every one of them looks like a future role player.

The draft is one of the weakest IMO there's like 5 players who look decent to me and the rest seem like busts or would be low frps at best in other drafts.

Some of the players who look good include:
    Sarr (French Jarrett Allen)
    Risachier (French Brandon Miller)
Cody Williams (little bro Brandon Miller)
Reed Sheppard (51% from 3 but only 6'3)
    Nikola Topic (Euro Cade Cunningham)

There might be diamonds in the rough like you said there's guys like Tipjane Salaun but the high upside generally doesn't seem to be there unlike in other drafts.

I would argue that prospect hype is VERY overrated.

Look at all of the certified scrubs who were hyped up as the next big thing when they were prospects.....Jalen Green, Scoot Henderson, Cade Cunningham....

I just have a hard time taking the talking heads seriously one way or the other.

Haven’t watched him but he isn’t a guard and he can’t shoot in the G League. No more G leaguers that can’t shoot.

I’m high on Buzelis. He’s got size, quickness, defense, a smooth shot, and can play within a system while staying very competitive. Would fit in great at SF and potentially PF if he bulks up.
