    I am surprised Israel was caught so off guard. Massive intelligence failure.

    What is Hamas's objectives here? The only logical one is to draw Israel into a broader war because Hamas has to know it will not be able to hold any territory. It is certainly an act of terrorism they have committed. While Israel has committed crimes by their historical actions, nothing justifies the targeting of citizens.

    Is this an act of frustration and desperation? Anger lashing out at the lack of progress and the living conditions in the Gaza strip? Or is there a larger strategy in play. Clearly this was well thought out and planned for a long time. Strategically, knowing Israel will respond with heavy force, are they hoping to engage Israel forces in street battles within the Gaza strip? Or is this an opening salvo where another nation is about to get involved?

    Which side kills a higher percentage of civilians vs military? Is it hard to locate military targets in Israel? What about in Gaza? The side that get called terrorists are the ones that avoid attacking the military and specifically target civilians, all while hiding their own military assets among schools and hospitals.
    Israel has been using kid gloves against Palestinians for all of their history. That's why the West Bank and Gaza even exist.
