This woman beater will never set foot on another NBA court again. Why does it matter if the Rockets try to recoup millions of dollars? This is about the contract, not the person.
It's about having an ethical standard. The Rockets lose on this, period. They need to own that, not try to maneuver and benefit from the situation.
The Rockets should absolutely try and get some benefits or recoup if they can from this, as long as KPJ is off the team.
If KPJ's deal is voided (doubtful), the Rockets could end up as far as $8M below the cap if they hold off on officially signing Boban for now, about $6M below if they don't. They could use that room to absorb salary in an uneven trade. But again, I am pessimistic about the league voiding KPJ's contract.
@Clutch has done at least two RocketsWatch episodes on the KPJ incident, on which he made his thoughts abundantly clear. He wants nothing more to do with KPJ and would cut him now if he could.
Classless. Have some respect for the victim and not try to benefit off of her nightmare. Cut him and hope you can void his contract.
As I said earlier Im not sure they did do all they could. Some are saying CBA others are saying the CBA does not stop you from waiving and I personally remember a clause on his contract stating if he is waived day 1 of the season he only gets 1 mil so maybe they are waiting for that, I dont know whats true at this point. If the Rockets made things more clear people wouldn't be so confused and mad.
No one here wants anything to do with kpj anymore, that’s not up for debate, whether to trade him or not is the question. Or rather, is the mere suggestion of trading him some immoral sin.
Is there a reason why you feel it would be doubtful? As far as I understand there is a domestic violence policy in the NBA, and the league is in desperate need of a quick "win" after the Bridges incident. It would seem like terrible optics to openly declare an investigation into the incident, and essentially come away saying nothing he did was serious enough to warrant a contract ending punishment.
What I find weird, in relation, is that OJ Mayo got banned for using pain killers and mar1juana (similar bans for Roy Tarpley, Chris Washburn, Eddie Johnson, to name a few) - that's "just" self-harm, as far as I can tell. Domestic violence should be punished harder than that, in my opinion.
I can see Stone doing this deal because it’s a Stone type trade. KPJ whitmore 1st round for duncan Robinson
Usually it would be KPJ 2nd rounders For Chimezie Metu De'Andre Melton + a bad contract(any names that are not prominent or washed up)
