Fans and players should generally operate within their own spheres on social media. Direct messaging players is a bad idea and players trolling social media or whining about the fans is typically a bad look. The only reason the players make the money they do is because the fans care, but that caring has a negative side to it as well.
That JV talked to the team about showing up and competing. Nothing major. Dusty supporters trying to make something out of nothing.
Threats of any kind around sports is insane, it's not that serious folks. That said, complaining/whining about it social media is just as stupid imo. Take screenshots, contact and report it authorities, if the person feels like it's a credible threat. Unfortunately not likely to get sympathy online and why would you want that anyway. Sympathy from social media strangers does nothing if threats are real!?! I guess the moral of the story is that there are idiots all over social media and everyone wants attention until they don't.
In every walk of life, there will be some that are some bad apples same goes with Astros fans. Getting shutout in the 1st game with 2 throw-in trade pitchers is more embarrassing than yesterday's slap in the face. Remember Marty Maldonado used to throw to 1st base to try to catch runners at 1st base, either he is too old, or too lazy to try to keep the runners at 1st base in check. Having Y.Diaz sit 2 straight games is just Dusty forming into Tony LaRussa (White Sox). Watch next year without Dusty, Y.Diaz will be an All-Star catcher. The good thing in this series, we should have Ryne Pressssly. Having a .500 record at home for a defending champion is just a slap to the face to people who goes to games regularly watching the team play like feather at home. They should just rest some of the starters.
Meyers' best attributes are his defense (range) and hitting vs LHP. If you're going to give him a spot start why would it be now with Brown pitching (groundball pitcher) and facing RHP? Makes no sense.
Agree on both counts. But Dusty doesn't look at any of that. It's thec3rd game of the series and Jake (and Jon) haven't started in a while so get them in there. I expect a win today and each will do something (maybe not big) positive to help the win.
