From this list, what are your top 20 Sgs, I threw in VC and Pierce in this, but some might argue they are 3's, same with Spree at this stage of his career and given his wingmate and respective role on his team.....What is your Top 20...in order? Also I have considered Artest and Maggette as SF's even tho they might end up playing SG's if they had certain teamattes who better fit their opposing position etc.... allen,ray anderson,derek barry,brent barry,jon bell,raja bogans,keith brewer,jamison brown,devin brown,kedrick bryant,kobe carter,vince christie,doug crawford,jamal daniels,marquis finley,michael ginobili,emanuel giricek,gordan hamilton,richard hardaway,anferne hassell,trenton hoiberg,fred houston,allan hughes,larry iverson,allen james,lebron johnson,joe jones,eddie kittles,kerry lenard,voshon mcgrady,tracy miller,reggie mobley,cuttino patterson,ruben pierce,paul redd,michael richardson,jason richardson,quent rose,jalen rush,kareem sprewell,latrell sura,bob wade,dwyane wells,bonzi welsch,jiri wesley,david so how about it?

Twenty is way too much, especially considering that there are only 30 teams in the league... I'll go with top 10. 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Tracy McGrady 3. Ray Allen 4. Paul Pierce 5. LeBron James 6. Michael Redd 7. Vince Carter 8. Rip Hamilton 9. Michael Finley 10. Cuttino Mobley NOTE: I left off AI because he's expected to spend most of next season at the point.
1. kobe 2. tmac 3. vince (assuming health here) 4. pierce 5. AI 6. ray ray 7. lebron 8. rip 9. redd 10. mobley
1. Kobe Bryant 2. Tracy McGrady 3. LeBron James 4. Paul Pierce 5. Rip Hamilton 6. Ray Allen 7. vince 8. redd,michael 9. Michael Finley 10 mobley,cuttino 11. ginobili,emanuel 12. jones,eddie 13 richardson,quentin 14 sprewell,latrell16 15. rose,jalen
01. Kobe Bryant 02. Allen Iverson 03. Paul Pierce 04. Tracy McGrady 05. Vince Carter 06. Ray Allen 07. Lebron James Not really anyone else after those guys that blow the rest away, Richard Hamilton I guess.
I'm going to base this (in order) according to (1) general scoring ability, (2) FG%, (3) general defense, (4) 3 Pt FG%, (5) versatility. Bonus points for being on a playoff team, and I reserve the right to kick off any "good numbers on a crappy team" guys (Maggette, Richardson). I suppose the big question here is Kobe vs McGrady. Their numbers (PPG, FG%, assists) are nearly a dead heat, and it's a tough read when they've been in opposite situations. On one hand, you can say that Kobe's life was made easier with Shaq on board and McGrady had to deal with defenses focused only on him. On the flipside, a Laker fan would say that Kobe couldn't get as many shot attempts while playing with Shaq as TMac could as the only scoring option (the numbers do support this). To break the tie, I've got to go deeper. McGrady's better from long range, can block more shots (though he quit trying by year 3 in Orlando), and does better on the boards (though again, those last two could be attributed to Shaq being around in LA). Finally, McGrady didn't run the most dominate big man in the game out of town, and while reportedly considered a slouch by some, he's isn't regarded as the biggest prick in the game. Therefore: 1. Tracy McGrady 2. Kobe Bryant 3. Allen Iverson (we all know he's not a PG) 4. Vince Carter 5. Paul Pierce 6. Michael Redd 7. Rip Hamilton 8. Ray Allen 9. Cuttino Mobley 10. Michael Finley Hon.Ment. Latrell Spreewell, Manu Ginobilli Evan

Yes, AI for sure, Pierce and Tracy can flip flop with no argument from me, but Pierce has accomplished more.
the first three are no-brainers in my opinion, but come on: How can Lebron James be one of the best SG's if the guy cannot shoot?? Also how can you put Redd ahead of Carter? 1. Kobe 2. T-Mac 3. Pierce 4. A.I. 5. Carter 6. Ray Allen 7. Rip Hamilton 8. Micheal Redd 9. L. James 10. D. Wayde 11. M. Finley 12. L. Sprewell 13. Ginobili 14. Mobley 15. J. Richardson 16. J. Rose 17. Q-Rich 18. B. Wells 19. Doug Christie 20. Eddie Jones, Jamal Crawford, Joe Johnson
I see a couple of posts that have T-Mac as #1 and Kobe as the 2nd best. I am Rockets fan with the best of them, but Kobe is better than McGrady, and there should not even be a debate.
Because he's the strongest, most athletic guard in the league. Carter is all reputation. Let's compare stats: Michael Redd: 21.7ppg, 5.0rpg, 2.6apg, .440 FG%, .350 3PT%, .868 FT% Vince Carter: 22.5ppg, 4.4rpg, 4.0apg, .417 FG%, .383 PT%, .806 FT% It's hard to argue that Vince has a great advantage over Redd. Both are weak defenders. Vince has been playing tentantive the last few seasons, really ever since he missed the last shot against the Sixers.
Name one thing Tracy has done that Bryant, AI, and Pierce havn't done besides lead the league in scoring.
Why not? Does pure talent count for everything, or do the intangibles matter? Can one player make his team better despite not having as much scoring ability as another? Evan
