Clearly the Astros, who have won two World Series, and Dusty, who is paid millions and knows baseball, see something we morons can’t pick up on that makes it impossible to have the best players back to back or even in the first four batter. Trust them blindly.

Or does that only apply to catcher selection? I can’t keep track of when data matters and when it doesn’t.

Dusty just led the team to a championship this past year. You people are delusional to think he doesn't know what he's doing.

    Rangers fan??

Dusty inherited a championship team. Management did not trust his prowess this past year's playoffs so they stripped his authority. The sooner he is stripped, the better.

Every manager inherits their team. They aren’t GMs and don’t build the roster.

The constant whining and crying on this board about Dusty the literal year after we won a World Series with him at the helm is grating and annoying.

People really can’t be happy about anything, I suppose. But you’d think a World Series would get people to chill out a bit — for a least a year — and maybe give the Astros’ brain trust, including Dusty, the benefit of the doubt.

And I say this as someone who is often frustrated with his lineups. I get the frustration, but the vitriol and whining here is off-putting.

Click kept Dusty in check during the playoffs, no lineup shenanigans and traded away players to force Dusty to use the ones we have.

He had a loaded team with an excellent pitching staff, and James Click wouldn't let him screw it up.

We need Click back again to stop all these weird lineups.

That retort sounds like someone unfamiliar with the Astros pre-Dusty or someone simply denying facts.

I'm neither of those things and I completely agree with @cbass

The constant b****ing and moaning is just boring at this point. He's not getting fired. He will be given the chance to walk away on his own accord...as a World Series winning manager. Hopefully 2 time World Series winning manager.

If you don’t like it you don’t have to click the fire Dusty thread. I mean- what do you think the thread is about?

Didn't we dismiss the GM and his top assistant for relying too much on brains?

This isn’t over the top analytics… Diaz is winning the numbers game in every single metric. Including old school BA. RBI (not close dusty cmon). And homers. It’s so obvious that us at home scrolling a forum can see it.

That’s not us suggesting dusty follow the analytics more, it’s us asking him to follow basic baseball common sense and procedure…

What's worse: 1) the complaining or 2) the lineup decisions?

Answer ONE of those TWO choices directly without deflecting.

Pre-Dusty the Astros had Hinch who won the WS while the team was cheating. Dusty won a legit ring and made it to the WS legitimately a second time. Those are the facts.

Was Dusty's championship the one where management stripped his gut in the postseason?

Hinch made the WS without trash cans too.

    How so?

Today I learned Click was fired from the best organization in baseball “for relying too much on brains”.

    What a deal.
