The Rockets will have two new starters and, for the most part, a different bench unit. How will the Rockets handle minute distribution next season? Who will play the most minutes and receive DNPs next season?

    FVV will play a ton.

I think one of Jalen/Jabari/Sengun will either see a minutes dip or be traded. I think atleast one of them will struggle and Ime will lean on blue collar guys like Tari or Brooks or Jeff Green when things get tough.

VanVleet played the most minutes last season at 37 minutes.

I have him playing less as a Rockets; but the most minutes
    per game at 34 minutes.

Also another reason why I have the Rockets losing so many games.

    31-51 (win-loss)

FVV will lead the team in minutes. My guess is that the rookies won’t play as much as we’ve seen in the past. If Green doesn’t improve his efficiency, I wouldn’t be surprised to see his minutes drop, but I really don’t think they want to do that.

Should add a poll with up to 5 multiple choices.

    FVV
    Green / KPJ (tie)
    Brooks
    Tari
    Jabari
    Sengun
Amen (will get someone traded if he sustains and grows beyond Summer League)
Whitmore (when he's too good for D-league)

This will change when players understand defensive assignments and trust each other more to pass around.

I don't necessarily agree that FVV will lead the team in minutes. He'll be up there, but our guard rotation is very deep. I think FVV will play around 30mpg. That could be enough to lead the team in minutes, but it also might not be.

If he can stay out of foul trouble, I'd expect Sengun to lead the team in minutes this season, just because we're thinnest at the 5 spot and deep at all the other positions (especially 1-3).

    FVV will lead in minutes...
Ime will lean heavily on Jabari, JG, Sengun and Brooks - to see if they can carry the load... one will fall out and either be traded at the deadline or lose his starting spot and see his mins diminish... the other 3 will finish at around 32 mpg...
kpj will log around 28-30 - and not be happy about it...
Tari is the wild card... could take a starting role - could log dnps...
Tate will get stop gap mins if somebody is lost...
The rooks will play sparingly initially - and add mins as the season goes on - and somebody else falls out of favor...

I predict that FVV and Brooks will not sit in close games in the fourth period.

I also have the hunch that Amen and Cam would be developed gradually, and slowly.....not getting much PT in the beginning.

I would love to see them log 25 minutes per game but could be wishful thinking.

Brooks definitely will in some games, maybe a lot. If the team is down but still within reach with less than 5 minutes and Brooks has been like 2-10 that night, then he's on the bench and someone like Tari will be out there. If there is a lead to protect he's probably closing.

Sounds like the same question as what will the rotations be.
    Same answer.

    Starters
Fred Van Vleet - 32 minutes

    Jalen Green - 30 minutes

    Dylan Brooks - 32 minutes

    Jabari Smith - 30 minutes

    Alperen Sengun - 30 minutes

    Second Unit
Kevin Porter Jr. - 24 minutes

    Amen Thompson - 20 minutes

    Tari Eason - 24 minutes

Jock Landale/Jae’Sean Tate/Cam Whitmore - 18 minutes in some ratio

Everyone Else - basically nothing, except for foul trouble, injuries, certain matchups, etc.

I'm having a very hard time believing Amen is going to get a lot of run. At least early on. I don't think Whitmore will see the floor at all this year unless there are some trades or injuries. I just think there is too much depth around the SF/SG positions. Brooks, Eason and Tate will all play minutes there (and it seems like some of you think Tate won't get a lot of PT, I disagree). I expect KPJ to get backup minutes at both PG and SG.
