I still think KPJ can be a very good bench player if motivated, but Amen does look to be the nail in KPJ’s coffin at some point, probably at the deadline unless KPJ explodes. Amen is just too good to play 20 minutes a game.
A lot people hate on KPJ here. I think people are not paying attention to the fact that Stephen Silas was coaching him. Ime will unlock KPJ even off the bench.
https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...ton-rockets-free-agency-overview-18187042.php That leaves them roughly $4.3 million of cap room along with their mid-level exception, worth another $7.723 million. The Rockets, who have two open roster spots and one open two-way spot, will add one or two young prospects, possibly not until after training camp.
Now this is really frustrating: https://apple.news/AdSSp1rD-RcuRdtasno7RAA Paul Reed is someone we really should have tried to go after.
A. He would have to want to come here - Jazz might be more appealing? B. We would have to think he is preferable to Landale. Not to me. He got paid the same as Jock. I prefer Jock
It’d be cool if they could trade for a pair of under 22 recent first round picks that would roughly account for that cap space, and maybe even pickup a couple of 2nd round picks for the trouble. Know anyone who might do that?
When you look at the current roster, I think the need is for a solid G/F type with a consistent, +38% 3 pointer.(but who doesn't want that player) FVV - Amen - Holiday Thrilla - Scoot - ???? Villain (yuck!) - Tate - Cam Bari - Tari - Unc Jeff Sengawd - Landownda - Huff (I think) I could see the team going after - Isaiah Joe (OKC) or - Sam Hauser (BOS) y'all already know Imma keep pushing for him Stone will prolly sign some rando G/F tho. I could also see acquiring Charles Bassey (SAS) or Omar Yurtsevem (UFA - MIA) if Huff is not the 3rd center. My hope is that we can turn Tate (maybe with some SRPs attached) into Hauser, Joe, & Kornet via a 3 team with OKC> BOS: Tate (HOU) + SRP (via HOU) OKC: Champagnie (BOS) + SRP (via HOU) HOU: Hauser (BOS) + Joe (OKC) + Kornet (BOS)
I think there is concern if Jalen is a liability on the defensive end they may need to flip their roles. Lou Williams was an awesome offensive player but his defense limited him. KPJ is Jalen insurance....
I'd be keen to hang on to that MLE and the 4mill space to fill those 2 roster spots at a later date. Look at OKC's roster - they have to trim to 15 at some stage, and there is an accumulation of talent there. They may end up waiving someone at some stage
Yeah even if it's not one of Tyty of Garuba. Someone's gunna be shaken from that talent tree. Then I hope we still go after another big, just as insurance. Biyombo would be perfect imo and wouldn't take up all of that MLE.
Hard No. Jordan Poole may be the most overpaid player in the league. Low efficiency and no defense on an a near max extension.
If the Harden thing gets messy, I think I'd have to think about it: To Sixers Porter Tate Eason To Rockets Harden Future #1 Porter/Maxey in backcourt. Potential starter in Eason and quality backup in Tate. If Sixers trying to win now, that might be their best offer. The risk is Harden is a rental so they can't get too much for him. We give him a year to teach Jalen tricks and introduce him to girls and then part ways... he gets a farewell tour at the cost of giving up Eason for a future 1.... Not sure if I do it but would free up minutes for Whitmore...
