Stone is the equivalent of the music teacher trying to teach advanced calculus for the day because the actual teacher called in sick…he’s way out of his depth

Do you think this is just Stone?
Feels like Ime has a lot of input here

I love JVG as a person, coach, commentator, but no thanks to him as GM!

JVG was basically our GM while he was coach here. We ended up filling our bench with washed up ex-Knicks like Charlie Ward, Charles Oakley, and Rod Strickland and stiffs like Clarence Weatherspoon and Rick Brunson.

I like the overhaul .. Kept the future young potential stars, got some overpaid prime vets, and got rid of some POFs along the way..

I'm convinced Stone is gonna trade Green or Sengun next off-season and we'll have really tanked for no reason.

Let wait and see about contracts, I believe there might be wrinkles in them like this trade

The Rockets agreed with free agent center Jock Landale on a four-year, $32M deal — with only the first season guaranteed, sources tell ESPN

I thought it was guaranteed for 4 years….but giving up Martin for 2 2nd rounders

I don’t think it’s just him, but I think it’s mostly him and he deserves most of the blame since he would also get most of the credit if he was killing it in FA right now

even if all these moves were heavily pushed by Ime, Stone as the GM should know better…I can’t even attempt to justify 4/80 for Dillon Brooks…never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d be giving Dillon Brooks that before it actually happened

FVV committed grand larceny with that max contract, but at least he’s a good player I guess and certainly an upgrade over KPJ running point

if this was really all Ime, that just makes Stone look even worse

How are u blowing money based primarily off the suggestions of a guy who’s coached just 1 season?

So we hire JVG as GM because of his long history as a successful front office person?

Lots of Chicken Littles in the GARM today, running around squawking about how the sky is falling.

Stone told Udoka. Bring your own women. We aren't going to trade one for you.

    Cleaning house for sure.

Making it clear Stone has done a $hit job on most of his decisions. Wonder if the Fertitta's are all in on Udoka and with his input are realizing Stone is a joke of a GM.

It’s stone that’s working the contracts of course, but Ime is telling him the players he want/don’t want

Whole off-season would be fine without Brooks. Not good, but tolerable. The Brooks contract is total dogsh*t.

What if I told you these were really good moves when all looked at together. Udoka/Stone basically said that they want to be competitive and want to remake the locker room culture but they also said that realistically they arent going to be able to make a deep run in the playoffs for another 2 years. They signed FVV to run the offense the next 2 years(3rd year is a team option and that is huge) and to show the youngsters how to be a professional. Patty Mills also helps with same. I expect Amen Thompson to benefit a ton by having FVV and Mills to learn from. Other than maybe KJ Martin the outgoing youngsters were not going to get much playing time. 4 years guaranteed for Brooks was a little bit of a head scratcher but all the extra stuff he brings to the table aside there is no argument from me that you need perimeter defenders that can switch and not get taken advantage of he checks that box. Jock Landale hopefully brings about 10-15 minutes a night of hustle and defense and he is only guaranteed 1 year so if he doesnt put up hes gone next year. This move also signifies that the Rockets are expecting Sengun to play around 30-35 minutes a night imo. It sucks they didnt get Brook Lopez but the 3rd year team option for FVV tells me the Rockets drew a line in the sand and said these next 2 years are ALL about developing the youngster and changing the culture and that the Rockets want to have flexibility beyond the 2 years for rookie extensions and to be able to be players again in Free Agency in 2025. Im guessing Lopez wanted a 3rd year from the Rockets to get him to leave from a great situation that he had in Milwaukee and the Rockets rightfully couldnt do it.
Im interested to see what the Rockets do with KPJ going forward. I do not want him to have the keys to the offense ever again but if hes willing to accept being instant offense off the bench and can provide hustle/effort on d i think he can still be a big help.
Overall I think it was a great offseason.
