Apparently he has had his Instagram like that for a couple of years. I feel like we are working on a sign-trade for Brooks to sign Lopez after.
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, “Brook Lopez’s free agent decision is definitely one of the larger dominoes free agents and teams are waiting to learn. There was increasing word today that Houston’s offer could even exceed the two-year, $40 million figure that’s been widely rumored in recent days.” The Houston Rockets already signed free agent point guard Fred Van Vleet to a three-year $130 million contract. Going into the night, Houston had $64 million of salary cap space for this season. Van Vleet’s deal eats up over $41 million of that. If what Fischer is saying is true, that means that the Rockets may be looking to use the rest of their salary cap space to bring Lopez to Houston. According to previous reports, the offer the Bucks had on the table for Lopez was a three-year deal worth around $54 million, or $18 million per year. Perhaps a $2-5 million raise from that would be enough to convince the Defensive Player of the Year finalist to leave Milwaukee. There is also this troubling development: Brook Lopez has wiped his Instagram pic.twitter.com/PpYbogAste
This is really interesting to me because Coach Ime has vocalized his displeasure with drop coverage yet he’s our top target at center. I still like the idea of Brook Lopez a lot, but scheme wise I’m confused about how the Rockets want to use him.
I half-expected this outcome, if it ends up being true--spending all our cap space on FVV and Lopez to get them to sign. It's what it takes to get players who are good enough to start on a championship contender when you're a sh*t team. I don't think it's necessarily a bad move, I was just hoping we wouldn't have to go up to 3 years to get the deals done.
AND is the keyword and that likely means three of these four, KMJ, Tate, Christopher, and KPJ, will be gone.
the way he plays will age well into his late 30s i hope so, but the fact that Rockets didn't reached a deal with Lopez today i'm afraid they might be trying to make it a sign n' trade to create more cap space to also sign Dillon Brooks, which most of us hate to see
You have to wonder if the third year for FVV has opened up the possibility of a third year for Lopez as well.
