Awful. An average starting PG for over 40M lol. What a joke.

Amen is probably shooting worse than Fvv. If he can't fix his broken shot he better sit.

van vleet can shoot. He had a down year but he’s a better shooter than all of our guards

The 3 years is also a little puzzling considering we just drafted Amen. I guess we could play them together? Amen at point forward with FVV playing off the ball as a shooter, FVV guarding the 1 and Amen guarding the 3? I don't know, someone smarter than me make it make sense. Why would we lock FVV into 3 years if we just drafted a point guard in the lottery?

…we had a salary floor we had to meet and there are stiff penalties in the new CBA for not meeting it. Not saying I love the contract, but you can’t have ALL players on rookie contracts anymore - the league literally will punish you for that…look at FVV as the worlds highest paid teacher because that is his role for the next 3 years(and to take up cap room so we don’t have to sign more players who take minutes away from our young guys on rookie contracts)

I will say at least it's not Jerami Grant's deal...

Wow... i would have offered no more than about half that...

You can't start next year with KPJ as the PG. They need competent PG play to give Green and Smith every opportunity to succeed.

Trash take. Harden doesn't care about winning; He would've instilled bad and selfish habits in our impressionable young players. FVV is going to be a floor general who keeps the starting seat warm while Amen develops. Crucially, this contract expires (or becomes a tradeable asset in year three) before Green, Sengun, Jabari, etc. need their next respective rounds of extensions.

If the price pushes Brooks out of the picture, it’s a win.

D'oh! Forgot about that. He was still a good piece on that team. I stand corrected!

They can take a veteran from another team and be paid for the trouble...

No need to waste cap space...

Yes, if Rockets management think adding VanVleet gets us to
41-41 like the Raptors last year....they better ask if Siakim, OG Anunoby,
Gary Trent jr, and Scottie Barnes come with him for $43 mil per year

Don't worry, you'll have FVV to blame for them bricking shots for the next 3 years....

D'oh! How quickly I forget. I was remembering that big three VanVleet hit in game six against the Warriors when I typed it. Regardless, he's got championship DNA; can't say that about Harden.
