tell me how I'm wrong. They had KD Hadden and Kyrie and they only played 10 games together cuz Kyrie was too selfish. Kyries entire game is also selfish. Dude never passes.

Also…without Harden, they get swept by the Celtics.

We just need to be thankful that Harden put his fat suit on and requested a trade from here when he did.

His value has fallen off a cliff since then.

I disagree...last year he could have signed a max contract but instead took a pay cut so Sixers could sign better players.

I'm guessing somewhere in the negotiations last year...discussion were had about the Sixers taking care of him this year and now it looks like Sixers backed away causing bad blood between both.

I wonder what kind of offers he's getting this year. Opting in probably means that he's not being able to get much more than what he would give up by opting out. I guess he figures might as well bet on himself and hope he has a good year to get a bigger bag next year. But the odds of him not declining more aren't very good.

The Sixers told Harden last year that they would not give him the max. As soon as he signed the contract Harden spun it that he turned down the money to help sign more players. That wasn't true then and it's not true now.
He didn't have any other team to leverage against the Sixers. That's why we got the Christmas news that Harden was interested in coming back to Houston.

Ballmer is Scrooge McDuck rich... I am confident there is a wink-wink deal to pay Harden next year.

    Excerpt from :

Why James Harden’s reunion with Daryl Morey in Philadelphia went south and what’s next in their looming divorce

"Sources say the Rockets — with a first-year coach in Ime Udoka, a cadre of young prospects and $64 million in salary cap space to spend — had already chosen not to pursue Harden in free agency in recent weeks and thus eliminated another of his top options. As so many suspected long ago, when the league wide chatter about Harden heading back to the rebuilding Rockets was growing louder by the month, the fit was ultimately deemed incongruous. There is still no shortage of love for Harden and his game among Rockets officials, with owner Tilman Fertitta, his son and liaison, Patrick, and general manager Rafael Stone chief among that group, but the choice was made to take a pass on another Harden chapter.

    I still give a Harden return a 50/50 shot.

Still proves Morey is and and always was overrated.

    Yup!

Also I don't do this often, but major props to Tilman for putting his ego aside and trusting the professionals.

Glad the Rockets didn't bring him back. Doesn't fit the roster or timeline anymore.

But I'm chuckling at people in the media next season. "What's happening in Philly. Herp derp why isn't Embiid as good as he was last season?"

The problem I see with Harden to Clippers is that the Clippers would have to unload some pretty toxic contracts.

I think this is more likely...

    To Sixers:
    Tim Hardaway
    Cameron Payne
    #1 pick from Dallas

    To Mavs:
    Deandre Ayton

    To Suns:
    James Harden
    JaVale McGee

    Suns end up with:
    Harden
    Booker
    Beal
    Durant
    McGee

    Mavs end up with:
    Irving
    Green
    Doncic
    Kleber
    Ayton

They then have Lively and Holmes to flip for forward depth.

Sixers pick up a couple of role players and a pick. They then have max space when Tobias expires next year.
