I think Whitmore would be a great pick if we traded Jalen Green. Imo Whitmore is really better suited to be a shooting guard rather than a forward. At SG his 6'6 height suddenly becomes overpowering, his 6'9 reach and small hands are just average. He still keeps his strength and explosiveness, and as a SG his primary duty is to score anyway so even the tunnel vision is less bad. Asit is though imo Whitmore isn't a good fit for this team.
Well folks, it appears that barring a trade the Rockets have decided on Amen over Cam. The possible medical condition is freaking teams out (including the Rockets) and Cam’s dropped out of the top five now and is projected to likely go to the Pacers.
Nate Duncan’s comment that his 6’9 wingspan actually looks more like 6’6 on tape echoes my initial thought watching him. What use is his “cannonball” athleticism if he can’t get any separation on his drives? Going right is a disaster for him, and he has no ability to do anything other than end the offensive play once he receives the ball. You’re talking about a smaller, short armed Carmelo/RJ Barrett/Randle in the best case scenario (I.e. old school and losing momentum in the modern game), and a bulkier Gary Trent in the worst case (ball hog, doesn’t really contribute to winning). Anyways, I think for the rockets at least the rumors are that this is no longer a possibility at 4, so I’m no longer worried about it. Maybe in the 7-11 range he becomes more of a value bet.
Is Anthony black 6 foot 7 !? I honestly haven’t looked much into Anthony black.. I was talking about Amen
He did wow me. He's a humble introverted kid with a good work ethic and good heart These nerds want to be brown-nosed.
Tari was cited as not being able to remember plays, etc. But he seems to really just have the instinct. If Cam falls to 10, and we can move up, that would be a huge win.
Todd Whitehead | @CrumpledJumper We're working on some new player comp tools @SynergySST. Here's a sneak peek at the "NBA play-a-likes" for 14 potential lottery picks in tonight's draft based on their production (box score), play style (play-type + shot-type rates), and efficiency (PPP). Here are some examples of stats that we are using to find player comps (all measured relative to league-average performance): •production: PPG, assists, steals, blocks •style: post-up rate, 3PAr, rim rate, C&S rate •efficiency: on-ball PPP, 3P% Here are some examples of things we did *not* use to determine a guy's "NBA play-a-likes": •height (or other body measurements) •age (or other surrogates for potential) •direct measures of athleticism As such, these can't be interpreted as projections or draft comps. In other words, these are *not* the three most likely career outcomes for each prospect, they are three NBA players who had similar statistical profiles as the prospect last season (each relative to his own competition level).
I'm curious if Dame's friend is Bridges. Portland would like to bring him in--using #3 to do it--but Brooklyn says no. If Portland takes Scoot, does Lillard tell them privately that he's ready to move to the East Coast?
I'm iffy about Cam at 4, but he would be the steal of the draft at 10 if we can somehow make this Mavs trade happen.
And here I thought the Jazz just prefer Dick. Spoiler (not that there's anything wong with it... you do you.... Utah)
Lolololololololololololol Some of y’all really wanted this guy over Amen. Whole lottery doesn’t want him.
