I do not think New Orleans does it for the fourth pick only. If they would, I would hop all over it. Injury concern for sure. But 25 ppg on 60% fg % is rare as hens teeth.

Is it more likely Zion gets in shape or Amen gets a 3pt shot? If they each do those things, isn't Zion clearly much better? If they both fail, isn't Zion a much bigger hinderance with his contract?

Interesting to think about it even though I don't believe this rumor. I guess it's possible the Rockets heard the Blazers might be interested in Zion so the Rockets called to check what it would cost to acquire Zion.

    24 games
    61 games
    Missed season
29 games (and then pulled a Ben Simmons.)

“Zion Williamson says the main thing holding him back right now is getting over the mental hurdle of his injury. Says there are times when he still feels a hesitation when he makes certain moves. He doesn’t wanna play until he “feels like Zion”

“Zion has missed 45 consecutive games with a right hamstring injury. Zion said he is physically healed but does not feel ready from a mental standpoint to return to the floor.”

    2023-24: $33,500,000
    2024-25: $36,180,000
    2025-26: $38,860,000
    2026-27: $41,540,000
    2027-28: $44,220,000

No to Zion. The Mexican food and barbecue is just too good in Houston.

The Rockets are not so stupid to make such a mistake. A player so heavy get injured so many times will not have
a successful career on the Rockets. ! Y

It's a catch 22. If the Pelicans are willing to let go of someone like Zion with his level of production at his age when healthy for just some draft picks, then they know something even more about his injury concerns.

Zion is an extreme case of he's either going to be one of the greatest players ever or just be a dud not worth any picks because he literally can't stay on the court. If the Pelicans are willing to trade for just picks then they know almost for certain that he's going to not stay on the court much more for the rest of his career.
