TBH, game plan-wise, it gave me Morey-ball / MDA / Harden era PTSD. Mazzula relied on 3's. Spo even in the timeout, was caught on TV saying to his bench unit was saying they can't win if they don't hit their 3's. C's offense got predicable. Plus with BOS being 'position-less' lack of de-facto playmakers, lot of critics of analytics / position-less bball, are coming out, pointing fingers, and mocking BOS right now. Critics include some of the old heads of BOS' own local media. It is what it is.
DANG…when first time someone on this forum told me this (in 2020-2021 season) to justify Silas 'free fall' style of coaching, man, i even began doubting my 20+yrs of hooplife. @hakeem94
First overall pick shaq - miami wins title First overall pick lebron - miami wins title No high picks = no title makes you think!
Love the TNT crew comparing Miami to the Rockets championship team with the non-stars all kicking ass.
Boston's problem is that their lead star is Jayson Tatum. Tatum is certainly an excellent player, but he doesn't have the tight handle necessary to take over when defenses become more intense and pressure him. He seems to admire and pattern himself after Kobe, but Kobe (and all truly great lead superstars) had a strong enough handle to deal with pressure. Tatum has no confidence in his, and so he disappears in the fourth quarter. And when he does try to force it, he turns the ball over almost like clockwork. Unless Tatum tightens up his ability to dribble against dialed-in defenses, Boston's never going to have a go-to guy in crucial moments.
