A bit worrying we aren't a place young kids don't want to go..... Honestly Stone & Tillman are lucky this leave doesn't have promotion & relegation. We've just been awfully run.
Did his reaction get shown when picks 2 and 3 were announced? The kid might be a Spurs fan. If football were a truly world-wide game then a lot of kids would want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Some people here take everything as a knock on Houston. It isn't. He could just be happy he was one step closer to his (possibly) favorite childhood team.
Manute Bol played in over 70 games in his first 8 NBA seasons, except for one year where he still played 58 games
It's probably been said, but maybe it's just his reaction to the Spurs still being in contention for the #1 pick. Maybe that's where he wanted to go - which would be understandable.
Well, he didn't want to play for the Rockets. Luka didn't want to play for the Suns. That's the way this stuff goes sometimes.
So Victor played for Tony Parker's team....he came out himself and said the Spurs are basically France's team because of that.....and he just so happened to go the Spurs who had a 14% chance of getting him. It's like it was written in the stars.
ya storybook fairytales really do come true.... all by themselves... the stars above us make it happen... they pull that rabbit out the hat... it was spurms destiny, not rigging
Whoever wrote the algorithm to "pull the balls" needs to be fired, though, since after that, it started picking the Spurs for every pick. lol.
It is what it is. Immature move but guess he is just being honest. Only issue is why not say it in the beginning instead of lying to the media saying he was ok with any organization? It’s obvious he prefers the Spurs considering their ties with Diaw and Tony Parker. There is a healthy Spur fan base in France. We will never know if the draft was rigged or controlled but we do know the NBA has targeted Europe and expanded its Euro/French market with lucrative TV deals and licensing deals with France and the UK. If Victor becomes a star, this would only mean more dollars and revenue from overseas markets including France much like what Yao has done for the Rockets and the NBA.
It’s obvious thats his preferred destination like your top school on ur undergrad list when u were in high school or the top company u want to work for in a list of 5 after graduating etc.
It's bizarre that people can logically accept that government guidelines are affected by industry lobbying, politicians are influenced by $$$, news media have their own agendas, athletes endorse their $$$ sponsor's products and services ... Yet when it comes to the NBA, an entertainment business that exists purely for $$$ like the WWE, somehow there's no chance for rigging to be involved. If in 10 years there's a basketball prodigy coming out of China and Rockets are in the position for the #1 pick, Rockets 100% get it.
