I'd still take Paolo in spite of his abysmal February 3pt %...... Paolo is 27% vs the college sharp shooter Jabari 29%
In this thread: People pitting Banchero against Jabari as though the Rockets actually had the opportunity to pick Banchero Pro tip: They did not.
It sucks because just the idea of Bari going #1 he is being held to the #1 standard. Also, people acting like ORL fleeced the Rockets when we were just going to pick the best available at 3.
Paolo has been playing better and the Magic are winning ballgames. Proving that they have hit on their top picks such as Banchero, Wagner, as well as reclamation projects like Fultz.
2022 - 2nd worst 2021 - 3rd worst 2020 - 13th worst 2019 - 15th best 2018 - 5th worst 2017 - 5th worst 2016 - 11th worst 2015 - 5th worst 2014 - 3rd worst 2013 - worst record 2023 - 7th worst.....
And I'll still not as stupid as I wouldn't take Paolo with the #1....I'm sure you had a point somewhere in there......
The Jabari Smith Jr bashing is ridiculous. Comparing Banchero to Jabari, he has a better 3pt%, better free throw%, better effective field goal%, more rebounds, almost twice as many blocks, less turnovers, and is younger and definitely not our 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd option on offense. He's the only teenager in NBA history to have three straight 20 points, 10 rebounds games. Banchero has had only TWO the whole season, not in a row.
the last ORL game i saw, banchero was the man on that team taking and making the big shots in a win. he's clearly ROY. that being said, jabari has improved immensely and is younger, the jury is still out on who will be the better player down the line
Honestly the birth of widely available relational databases to create fake milestones that nobody knew existed beforehand has got to be one of the worst parts of the big data era.
It just proves a broken clock is right twice a day and tanking works cuz eventually even dumb teams like Cavs and Magic will get enough chances at the lotto to not mess it up. They've been picking in the lotto since Dwight left I guess it's cool they have a nice core now X years later.
How dare you don't you know we are reserving the historic " at least19 pts, 8 rebs, 1 ast and 2 blocks for 3 games straight" for Wemby next year?
