Correct. They also provide shade that keep stream temps from getting too warm. After fires and when a watershed needs rehab, your public lands agencies often drop trees into streams that are home to anadromous fish.
Even Sengun? Eh I guess if we had Wemby then we shouldn't keep Sengun. could they work together as twin towers? Wemby can run the floor and shoot 3's giving Sengun space in the middle. It seems like a waste of Wemby's height though. Unless the plan is to develop him into a taller Durant lol, that would be crazy.
Sengun's time on the Rockets will be shortlived if we somehow get Wemby. Too many guys who need the ball in their hands. Especially since I think Harden will start packing for Houston the instant we win the lottery. In fact, if we win the lottery I'm instantly on the phone with other teams working out a deal to trade Sengun & future picks for the right to pick Jarace Walker, the ultimate off-ball 4/5 glue guy to backup both of our bigs.
KPJ isn't looking like he will break out. He's actually worse than he was as a rookie in most scenarios. He's had multiple seasons to shine. Bizarre you put him into the same bucket as a 19yo in his first nba season.
Sengun can play at PF next to Wemby. He's a way above avg ball handler and will help W immensely. No one on our team has improved like AS has. He is better across the board and we would be fools to trade that.
I think Jabari is going to be much, much better next to Wemby. He's a lot better off the ball with his 3P shot and projects to be much better defensively. I don't really see why you'd play Sengun over Jabari in this scenario. It's not a great fit--Wemby wants the ball in his hands, he's been very clear about that. Edit: He doesn't want to stand around near the paint and wait for a pass, and that's not really his game anyway. He's more like a 7'4" KD.
Jabari has below average ball handling skills which will be very much needed next to Wemby. Pairing them directly would not be good. You might experiment with J at the 3, S at the 4, W at the 5. We don't have our own pick next season so no more tanking and we will see what the team can actually do.
With Wemby as a stretch 5 with an unblockable release point, and Sengun gaining confidence in his 3 pointer and also able to drive and Smith also gaining confidence in his 3 and a nearly unblockable release point that would open up a lot of driving lanes for the guards. If the Rockets are knocking down their 3's they would be extremely difficult to beat.
If the Rockets do get Wemby or Scoot ya the Rockets need to look to trade some of their on ball talent for some off ball talent. Sengun and KPJ would be the most likely candidates. Both of them in a package could net you someone like Bridges who doesn't need to ball to be a elite role player. If the Rockers don't get either then we need to keep Sengun in my opinion.
The rockets had MVP Harden, superstar CP3, 6thMOY Gordon, and were still looking for good perimeter players. What are we even talking about here? Are we worried Nix won't get playing time?
I definitely like our front court players more than our guards. I guess we are tethered to Jalen as our #2 pick. We will sink or swim based on his development. We apparently don’t want to play TyTy so we don’t know what we have there. We won’t play KPJ at his natural position, so hard to evaluate him too. Christopher has some real talent but until he learns to shoot he’s not gonna stick. Of course, we can’t forget Nix, who we’ve had 17 min per game to evaluate (as opposed to Christopher’s 11). I don’t see a logjam. I see a lot of questionable players that we’ve questionably (or not) tried to develop, and there are a lot of remaining questions. Not much to feel comfortable about.
