fwiw: Iko also contradicts cyberX is that piece

    • If Gordon isn’t traded by Thursday’s deadline, there’s no belief he would approach ownership in hopes of a buyout, a source close to Gordon said which was confirmed by a team source.
edit: already posted in the cyberx thread

Tate is on a team friendly deal, a good individual and versatile defender, is unselfish and moves the ball on offense, can get a bucket in the paint against smaller defenders, is a ‘vet’ who can fit seamlessly into a rebuilt roster next season.

We think his value is lower because the team is atrocious but an expiring and late first is probably not fair value for Tate.

Yeah, I’m not sure I’ve seen the worst team in the league (3 years now mind you) cling to their guys like Rafael Stone.

“We can’t trade Gordon. He’s such an important voice and leader in the locker room.”
“We can’t trade Tate. He’s such an important piece.”
“We can’t trade Martin. He’s such an important piece.”
“We can’t cut Nix. We see him as a lottery talent.”
“We can’t trade Christopher. He’s a young, upcoming talent.”
“We can’t trade Boban. He’s an important, fan favorite.”

Can’t do this, can’t do that.
They’re all too important to the worst team in the league.

Question is do you want to put your cap space towards him or someone else - because he's going to want to get paid this summer.

Tate's salary is not there. They could do KPJ the poison pill contract for him straight up. Always looking to make the team better.

Yes it is....try it on the Trade machine it works.

    Congratulations on a successful trade
Due to Houston being over the cap and having a post-trade Team Salary under the Tax Threshold and trading out less than $19.6M in salaries, the 50% trade rule is invoked. Houston could not receive more than 150% plus $100,000 or no more than $5,000,000 in additional salaries (whichever is lesser) of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here.

Due to Orlando being under the cap and choosing to invoke the Cap Room rule, Orlando could not go over the cap by more than $100,000 of post-trade Team Salary, which did happen here.

This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

Trading our best Combo guard does not make the team better....unless you get a star back.....nice try though.

apparently focusing on role players who are looking to get paid that do nothing for the actual future of the team is the preference

Stone sees Tate as Lebron apparently. Wtf is wrong with these people in our front office?

I'm going to try to be positive ---

Maybe Stone realizes you should never accept the first offer, so he's playing poker with Boston.
They have now tipped their hand and shown interest in an asset, and they are a top contender.

Maybe he's doing more than just sitting on his hands?

    I don't know. I'm trying here.
