Compared to the other heavy hitters, dude is the titanic guy in every movie. I’m bringing the heat tonight! He get the hoes I give him that.
He got paid 25 million for Wolf of Wall street financed by SBF of FTX fame. his largest payout at the time.
He's better than Markie Mark. Most of the true 'a-list' blockbuster movie stars always kind of play themselves. Bluring the line between the character they play and their public persona helps the rubes connect with them. Movie star and actor aren't the same thing. There's an element of "influencer" to what they do. It was even worse back in the early days.
I'm gonna guess OP is comparing to real actors like Matt Damon or Tom Hanks not some of these roided middle age action stars. I still disagree, DiCaprio is good. But, guys like Mark Wahlberg aren't really in the conversation.
Leo doesn't play leo. I mean he is totally different between movies. Wolf Leo is not like Blood Diamond leo.
Agree. Never seen the point of the guy. He’s nowhere near Gary Oldman, Pratt, DD Lewis, DeNiro, etc. This is how I guess he became an A-list actor: Teen heartthrob as a kid Cool to party with? Decent enough of an actor to not **** things up. Sucks a mean producer dick, I guess? Same goes for Brad Pitt, really.
ehhh….I like the guy…..but he’s a movie star. In blood diamond, he was a movie star with an accent a bit better than the one Keanu Reeves came up with in Bram Stroker’s Dracula. I also like Keanu Reeves, but it’s great that he seems like such a cool dude because he’s VASTLY overrated. Doesn’t stop me from liking the guy though.
I do agree Chris Pratt is in a league of his own, its time we started talking about a remake of Titanic for a more modern audience. Jack can be played Chris Pratt but this time Rose accidently drops her big ol purple hat and The Titanic leaves as she is picking it up.... We then get to see Jack (played by Pratt) save The Titanic from sinking because he won't have no female distraction.. Oh and Idris Elva is in too for diversity.
I’ve been waiting for someone to discuss Pratt alongside DD Lewis, Gary Oldman and Deniro. Should probably add Marlon Brando too. (am I doing this right?)
i dont think he is the greatest actor of all time or anything, but his filmography is pretty damn impressive. he has been in some really good movies and he has a few decades of work to go. i think the revenant is one of the best performances ive ever seen. and that scene in django when he accidentally cut his hand and kept going. pretty badass... he keeps a low profile too. most A list actors are all over the tabloids and whatnot. never really heard of any scandal from him. seems like he just works and dates 20 year olds. lots of good-to-great movies in this list... 1991 Critters 3 Josh Direct-to-video [16] 1992 Poison Ivy Guy Cameo [17] 1993 This Boy's Life Tobias "Toby" Wolff [18] What's Eating Gilbert Grape Arnold "Arnie" Grape [19] 1995 The Basketball Diaries Jim Carroll [20] The Quick and the Dead Fee "The Kid" Herod [21] Total Eclipse Arthur Rimbaud [22] 1996 Romeo + Juliet Romeo Montague [23] Marvin's Room Hank [24] 1997 Titanic Jack Dawson [25] 1998 The Man in the Iron Mask King Louis XIV / Philippe [26] Celebrity Brandon Darrow [27] 2000 The Beach Richard [28] 2001 Don's Plum Derek [29] 2002 Catch Me If You Can Frank Abagnale, Jr. [30] Gangs of New York Amsterdam Vallon [31] 2004 The Aviator Howard Hughes [32] 2006 The Departed William "Billy" Costigan [33] Blood Diamond Danny Archer [34] 2007 The 11th Hour Himself/Narrator Documentary; also writer [35] 2008 Body of Lies Roger Ferris [36] Revolutionary Road Frank Wheeler [37] 2010 Shutter Island Edward "Teddy" Daniels [38] Hubble Narrator Documentary [39] Inception Dom Cobb [40] 2011 J. im looking at that list i posted and have to ask the question...is he the greatest actor of the 21st century? from 2000 to 2019... the beach, catch me if you can, gangs of new york, aviator, departed, inception, django unchained, wolf of wall st, revenant, once upon a time in hollywood.
yo im just glad jesus pratt wasn't in django (the j is silent), cus he'd kill jamie fox in the first 30 mins. then the rest of the movie would be about a plantation owner being best friends with a nazi dentist. pitt and leo was basically carried by jors cloony in the ocean series
