I don't disagree with any of that, but if the org isn't going to address that problem that our coaching sucks - then why should I as a fan get all wrapped up in that when there is nothing I can do......I am just going to embrace the chaos......and look for individual success - nothing else to do....until they make a change at the head coaching level.

Well, I believed Stone and Silas when they said they were focusing on defense and would play hard this year and compete - what can I say......I was wrong......they clearly had ZERO intention of either of those things.

A growth mindset allows people to look at results or facts and change positions - got to have a growth mindset or be pissed off all the time....

I also believe KPJ plays better when he isn't trying to hard to get others involved.....let it fly.

Worst advice KPJ could get is this.

I can’t believe a real Rox fan will advocate this. He may provide godly numbers (still not certain), but at the expense of everyone else on the team. What exactly does it achieve? Unless you truly believe he is the one and just want him to get his. And everyone/everything else be damned.

That is the advice he needs so we can unlock his potential and find out if/where he fits.

I believe he is trying too hard to be a PG, and needs to just be himself a SG with a 2ndary creator mentality, ala Green.

And if he has GODLY numbers he builds value for a trade......win win.

We need to follow suit with the KD and Kyrie model. Who needs coaches? The players can coach themselves and do whatever they feel works!

Sorry you don’t have control over this either. I don’t think KPJ is going to say “hey coach, DD said I can ignore your direction”. Even though I think it might be a decent idea. I think the better idea is to let JG and Sengun initiate the half-court and bench Gordon and see how KPJ does in a different role. I also realize this is probably tongue in cheek.

You think any team would trade for a selfish chucker whose only goal is jacking up shots to get his? LOL. Mmmkay.

Take the L on KPJ and move on. It’s only a matter of time before this experiment is over.

He's best on offense when he attacks one-on-one. So for that reason he should do more of that.

The downside is that he's not good at actually identifying when he has an advantage one-on-one and when he doesn't, which leads to him forcing ugly drives resulting in turnovers or bad misses (after which he usually pouts for a few seconds, enabling the other team to get a fast break advantage).

It's like he tries to do the old James Harden offense sometimes but he doesn't have the Harden IQ to make the right decision. Not optimal.

That all said, he's young, so who knows. Our team and season is a dumpster fire anyway so I don't perceive KPJ's shortcomings as being especially detrimental (although Jabari might have some legitimate beef).

He is what he is, and we'll have him for at least this season and next.

You want me to debate you about better direction? Wouldn't you need an actual coach to make that happen?

I am just going to cheer for each player individually to shine - over trying to see something cohesive on the floor when the org clealry doesn't care about it.

Why should we as fans spend our days upset that they are blowing it on development with Silas, or that we should be running the ball through Sengun each time down the floor? And as such we throw our hands up and go...WTF are they doing?

To me, it is pretty clear they are just gonna roll the ball out and let individuals play with no consequences for whether they are playing smartly or not, no actual teaching - so, might as well embrace their stupidity....rather than sit here as a keyboard warrior and worry about something they aren't going to fix.

We are clearly tanking - all we have this year is to enjoy individual improvement and PRAY that our 3rd straight year of being GUM on the bottom of the NBA shoes leads to us actually finally getting that first pick....otherwise.....we are juicy fruit smudge for the next couple of years too.

Not at all, this is simply an attitude adjustment thread - if Silas is not gonna coach, got to find something to enjoy over the next 68 games of unorganized chaos.

You have gone on record complaining that Rockets players do not cut. A Harden style offense discourages off ball movement. It's also historically not a winning strategy. A player playing KPJs style causes the whole offense to stand still unless if they're directly involved (pick and roll).

Having an iso-centric offense hinders the development and ability of players like Green and Sengun or other players who aren't involved in the two man game KPJ would be playing on pick and rolls. I surely hope you don't think KPJ is worth investing more in than Green.

If you think KPJ is worth the investment you should look at the terms of his contract -- it strongly suggests he is still a gamble.

**** it, let him shoot. Lord willing it ends in KPJ throwing something else and that gets Silas fired.
