Well perhaps you and your friends who root for other teams should look first at defense. Hakeem's is still way above average. He really helps the Rockets out. Also ask most of the teams the Rockets played the second half of the season if he should have retired. I am sure when Dream sparked that comeback against the Knicks, that started his resurgence, the Knicks wished he would have retired. ------------------
Did you stop watching the Rockets after the first half of the season? After Rudy and Hakeem had a talk about some of the same issues you mentioned, Hakeem worked well with the team, and had a really solid second half of the season. The team worked well together, and Hakeem played great. ------------------
That's the main thing right there summed up nicely. Hakeem gives our team interior defense. That's what it's lacking most. He's still one of the best at it. I think it's too easy to look at Dream and say because he isn't destroying opponents the way he used to, when he couldn't be stopped, that he's through. But if he was a guy who no one knew, people would look at him and say that guy can really help a team's interior defense. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Franchisedream (edited July 19, 2001).]
