2022-23 Houston Rockets -- will they be over/under 24.5 wins?

I like the over, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

 

I went to the casino last night and put $100 on over 24 wins.

I think this team can surprise some people.

 

I like your optimism!! And it is shared by a lot of us wearing Rockets colored glasses. I think the Rockets are extremely talented, but veteran savvy cannot be underestimated. Rockets have Gordon, and basically that’s it for viable veterans.

The rockets will string together win streaks, but I fully expect the league to make adjustments each time, and harp on the weakness each player emits.

But I am very much looking forward to this season, and the growth that will hopefully lead to playoffs by at least next season!

 

We know this team can score. Interesting to see if Tari and Bari can make a significant statistical improvement on team D vs last year's rotation.

 

The big question here is whether Tari will get the minutes.

We will win under 30 games this year and we have a top 3 pick or at least top 5

 

I still think this team will win 25-30 games. The beginning of the season has been brutal but yet the team has managed to play better. I think the last game and a half are throw away games in Denver and not too much should be made of them.

Schedule is going to stay Brutal because the NBA is tough, but if you look at it, they only easy games the Rockets have had is Orlando and the Thunder. They've beaten Utah, the Hawks, and the Mavs (without Donic). But they won those games - games that they could have lost.

Everyone other game has been against teams that can rightfully claim to be much better. Of their 16 loses, only a handful have been blowouts.

Once we get to Dec 15th, the schedule gets much easier the rest of the way, and it's in those final 3 months and chances are that the Rockets win 20-25 of their remaining

 

4-4 in the last 8...capped off by a win over the Best in the West. Brutal schedule to start. Silas making moves to win, now.

I know. I know. Many of you want to tank, but there's just too much talent (albeit young) on this Rockets team...not to win at least 30.

We give up a ton of points, but we score a lot too.

It might not be pretty, but these kids are learning how to close games. And, THAT is more important.

We're further along than many thought.

It's certainly time to readjust expectations.

Before the season I was saying that anything under 30 wins should lead to Silas being fired. I think it's safe to say both of those things will happen.

My expectations for both Green and Smith were overly optimistic compared to what we've seen in the first half of the season.

Turns out 24.5 was a pretty good choice for over/under. I’ll still take the over, but barely.

 

I ended up not betting, which I feel pretty good about. Wouldn't feel good about the under or the over right now if I had bet, still think they nailed it at 24.5.

 

I was definitely too optimistic about this group. I was thinking 30+ wins. Looks like we'll be in the running for the 1st pick again, which is both exciting and sad.
