yeah but what are the alternatives? there aren’t many good blek players. zion is an exception cus he handsome af
Too bad, Chet is a talented player and cool dude. Hopefully he makes a nice recovery and plays in the league for a while. I would never celebrate another players injury in order to rationalize the fact we possibly didn't get the guy we wanted (Banchero). But I'm hoping Jabari picks up his shooting and out performs a healthy Chet anyway.
Yao got those injuries when he was not that skinny no more so yeah it is still sort of random and luck plays a part. The taller they are the more you worry.
A hype tool to get people excited. But somehow it works like a charm all over again. They throw any potentially decent shooter into a pot.
At risk of a Jimmy the Greek moment... my understanding is that black people routinely have denser bones than white people... Thats why when folks kept wanting to compare Chet's build with KD it didnt seem apples to apples... lol but ya never know what facts you're allowed to say out loud in this day n age... lol not saying bone density had anything to do with this... just a factor that i would think you would put into the equation - esp with a big man where build has durability questions.... how much weight you put on it - idk...
The internet says Chet signed a 20 million dollar contract. No matter what happens, he's going to be just fine.
If he goes through that too quickly he can always try to start a fraud ring of dentist and doctor invoices.
Ok fair that video is clearer and than the one I saw, however it very clearly is NOT a malicious play. That is a routine play, noone forced Chet to contest LeBron at the rim like that(which he did a great job). Finally, that doctor describes how this short of injury occurs and where it most probably happened... He never mentions the stepping on the foot.
To whites having greater foot arches is news to me; but the Houston Rockets doctor cited in the video apparently believes this to be true. I can say I heard reports that the Rockets were in panic mode after Banchero was picked #1.......worried about having to draft Chet without medical records. I saw the draft end as immediately thought bullet dodged by the Rockets. One point or two points do not form a linear line. One injury or two injuries do not mean a player is injury prone. But 3 points or 3 injuries (in a 2 or 3 yr span).....and people will need to admit a guy is injury prone and Apache ( & others) guessed correctly.
Pretend we win 37 games and still manage to land the first pick. Will Chet's situation have an influence on drafting Wemby? Or forget the Rockets just any other team with the 1st?
I dont see how it wont have some impact. There was already some injury concern abut Wemby - i personally have been more on the concerned side then not concerned side, more about Wemby than Chet. Just because of history. I would have been happy drafting Chet, recognizing injury potential, but no history so far like Wemby has. No Chet already out, and Wemby same body type but already with injury history. That's not a positive for Wemby's draft prospects that's for sure.
Any injury to his lower body is magnified due to his size & the fact he needs longer strides to get to the basket. Simular to Christian Woods constant ankle issues. Taller guys who drive more will be susceptible to gruesome foot/knee injuries. Same thing with Prozingus
