Thats not the point. The dude changes teams every other month. lol How about honoring your contract you signed like 2 years ago for hundreds of millions of dollars? Just a thought.
Not that I believe Bill Simmons, but my favorite theory is that Durant is demanding a trade because the Nets refuse to give Kyrie a max contract.
At the very least dude is soft. Can't wait to see another star player force a trade because things didn't go the way they planned after 1 season. He's probably going back to Golden State to cement his legacy lol.
I love how this point is often brought up as if it has any weight. Yes, the contracts are honored by the teams because the contracts included the teams' right to trade the players. If players didn't want to be traded before the contract expires, they should put that in the contracts just like how the guaranteed money was included in the contracts after they were traded.
Why even play at all and risk the slightest injury and end the possibility of a trade that can impact the rest of his career? Harden was rumored to be disgruntled, but I think he was still giving it somewhat of an effort to start the season before confirming that Silas was not the guy at all. KD has already requested a trade in the off season, so I don't see why either party would want him playing. If he goes to the Heat, he would be contributing wins to a conference rival. KD is on the season ticket marketing materials, while Kyrie is not on it, so maybe he plays to get into shape who knows, just seems absolutely pointless.
It holds plenty of weight. It shows that folks are being hypocritical when they are fine with teams changing their mind but not players. CP3 isn’t signing here if the Rockets told him we are going to trade you to OKC in a year. And all contracts don’t offer a player an opt out. And the contract gives the player a right to not play and not be paid, correct?
Changing mind has nothing to do with the contract. We change our mind all the times . That does not give us the right to trash the contractual commitment. Now you are talking about what they told CP3. That's a totally different matter. Yes, the player has the right to not play and not be paid. That's what they can do, like what Simmons did. What I think unethical is that the players want to have guaranteed money AND the freedom to go wherever they want to go regardless of the contract.
It is almost comical that the personalities of Durant, Westbrook, and Harden are kind of the same. They try to be as extravagant and "special" on and off the court. They think they are above any contracts.
Stone needs to get in on this action!!! Move EGo, Garuba, Nwaba, Burke, Boban and bring back at least 2 of these 4: Myles Turner Matisse Thybulle Jalen Johnson Kai Jones
