We definitely disagree and I appreciate honest debate. Siakim has been an all-star, was 2nd team all-nba in 20-21 and 3rd team in 21-22. I’ll give you the youth advantage, but Siakim is 28 and has averaged over 20 points and 7 rebounds the last 3 years. Maxey had a breakout season last year and has lots of promise, but if the Nets are not ready to tank Siakim is a player you can build around and stay competitive. VanFleet was also an all-star last year, but does have an injury history. Just think the Nets will want more proven guys than Maxey, but who knows. I do think they are going to have to settle for the best out of several mediocre offers.
A variation of my last Toronto trade. Toronto refuses to include Barnes, so they are forced to give up Siakam, FVV, and OG. OG goes to the Rockets in exchange for some relief of the Nets’ future obligations to us. Gordon and Curry go to the Raptors for some creation around Durant and Barnes. Rockets: OG Toronto: Durant, Gordon, Curry Nets: Siakam, FVV, picks from Toronto, some relief from future obligations to us.
I think eventually they give up Barnes before having to give up FVV and OG. Barnes doesn't fit the timeline for Durant. Can't have both.
Another hilarious one by national media.... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/mock-trade-nets-sending-kevin-194234813.html So we give up Eric Gordon, the 2023 Bucks pick, and the 2024 Nets pick for Ben Simmons. Maybe Gordon and filler for Simmons if we think we can fix him. I worry about another large contract refusing to play... I guarantee you the Nets would rather have the cap space.
I think it would be funny for the Nets to send Durant back to the Thunder for like 6 or 7 picks and the cap relief... Honestly, a lineup with SGA, Giddey, Durant, and Holmgren has a lot of potential... add a run at Ayton and they could be a contender...
No to Simmons. We already have to deal with KPj emotional state. After what happened the last year in For Simmons why would we take on that. You need a strong tough coaching staff and front office and team to deal with Simmons. We’re a developmental phase right now. He’s been in two great situations the alt last 6 months and didn’t even begin to suit up.
First Rockets In: Bledsoe (cut), Hart Out: Gordon, Tate, Nwaba, Martin ‘6ers In: Gordon, Tate, Winslow, & Nwaba Out: Harris Blazers In: Harris, Martin Out: Bledsoe, Winslow Than Porter (add a pick if needed) …for… Melton We change to a traditional looking team. Melton/Green/Hart/Smith/Sengun => Christopher/Eason/Garuba Hart fills in as the youth development continues. We spent the season playing defense first; good things will start happening. Trailblazers get a big that will help Lillard/Sharpe & Grant. Harris would make it all work together. 76ers move a max contract and add veteran depth. Winslow & Tate take Harris role. Embiid & Harden get some much needed help in Gordon. Both Tate & Porter will grow under Harden’s mentorship on the court.
Yes. Turner is a 7 foot spacer - a 3P threat. Career 35% 3P. And he is one of best rim protectors in entire NBA, 2 time shot blocking leader. Still only 26.
What are the odds of pairing SGA and Jalen? Hou could eat his contract and offer up tons of talent and draft picks that OKC is going to need because they're too good to tank and too bad to make a playoff run. OKC builds around Giddy/Chet. Houston features SGA/Green/Jabari
The issue for me is giving up 2 picks and Gordon. It might be different had he played some last year but then the price might be higher...
