Who would like for the Rockets to sign or aquire?

Derrick Fisher - Can opt out of contract tomorrow
Brent Barry - Free Agent, I think
Carlos Arroyo - Utah, He is a restricted free agent

Any other good point guards available?

I live in Seattle. I watch the sonics. Barry is not a point guard.

I've been wanting Snow for a while now. Snow number one, Carlos Arroyo number two, Fisher number 3, Barry number four.

Barry was only made a point guard out of necessity in Seattle. Of course he can play the position, but it's not his natural position. If we have to sign him to good money, and for a period of years, we might want to think about his usefullness as our PG. I'd love to get him, but it would be to back up both the PG, and the SG.

Snow is the man. No mistakes, the ultimate court General.

Thats exactly right. His first night at point he had like 13 assists or something and everybody was going crazy. People changed thier tunes real quickly in the next few games. Barry is a slasher, not a point guard. You cant imagine how scary it is sometimes to see him barreling down the floor with the ball in his hands.

I want Barry so Tony Parker, Mike Bibby, Steve Nash, and CBA scrubs like Darrick Martin can rip us new ones in the playoffs.

Seriously, didn't watching the Lakers (read Payton) get bent over in every round by the other PG mean anything?

Barry is great on one end... so is JVG change to an "outscore 'em" philosophy?

Defense will be our new PG's priority #1, #2 and #3.

Snow would be a good addition. I wouldn't mind adding Daniels, or Arroyo. I don't think the Rox should go for Barry.

gotta go with fisher. i mean, he won 3 championships in much similar situation that we now have. he's exactly what the doctor ordered.

but i would love to get barry as well, and then a banging 4/5.

The Rockets need a true point guard for this system.

Barry has been such a good player and would give the rockets the tallest back court in the league with amazing hops.

But Snow is the guy who can lead the Rockets further into the playoffs because he brings defense that JVG's systems calls for.

If being a good 3 point shooter was enough, then Piatkowski would have gotten more playing time. JVG asks for a lot from the players on the defensive end. Snow in my opinion will be the first guy on the list.

Get Fisher. It doesn't hurt to get an actor from LA to come to town.

I'm definately cool with Fisher, Snow, Hudson, and Arroyo. Barry would be alright, but he'd make our backcourt defense really, really iffy. Wouldn't mind Alston, though he's only had one good year, so I have some reservations. Not liking the Claxton idea too much... kinda like a younger & faster yet smaller & dumber Snow.

    Here's my wish list:

    1. Arroyo - Young, can drive and hit from outside, plays D
    2. Fisher - Perfect fit... plays D and hits threes
    3. Snow - Smartest of all these guys, and has the best D
    4. Hudson - Most potential, but a loose cannon when we want conservative
    5. Alston - Does everything decently, nothing great
    6. Barry - Top shooter, no D at all
    7. Claxton - Can drive and play D, but not a smart player or a good shooter... also undersized

    Carlos Arroyo

A bit Ginobilli-esque spastic but typical for a young player.

The most upside of any of the above players. His experience last year should really help.

By the time his contract expires, he will still be productive.

He could be a really solid player.

I wouldnt really feel too comfortable handing the ropes to any one of those guys. But a combo of either Fisher/Snow/Alston and Arroyo/Daniels/Hudson, would be the best fit. One vet and one younger player because I don't think Fisher or Snow are starters anymore but they can both play big minutes and calm things down in the clutch.
