This depends. Can we draft Chet and then set something up where we funnel Zion's excess weight to Chet's slight frame?
you want to be the guy who drafts Zion Williamson, not the guy who has to foot the bill for the buffet table three years later
If you draft Banchero, the answer has to be no, right? How many bigs who aren't plus defenders, need the ball in their hands and aren't great 3-point shooters can you realistically have on the roster at one time? I'm still on board "go BPA and acquire talent first" bandwagon, but you do get to a point where you have to acknowledge the weaknesses of your young core and you have to use your remaining resources to target them. Adding Zion would be the opposite of that. Now if they draft someone else or they decided in the future to deal Banchero for Zion, maybe it would make more sense. But in terms of Zion's career so far between the injuries and off the court drama, consider me unimpressed. I'd rather have Banchero and Sengun than max out a player with similar weaknesses with a history of injuries and a crappy attitude.
Nope. The food in Houston is just too good. He wouldn't be able to resist. We'll find him in a hotel somewhere sleep with a rib in one hand and a half eaten burrito in the other.
Would I gamble on him? Sure. Would I bet everything? No. Right now he's an 18 with the dealer showing a face card.
I mean...i'll be honest. I would. Zion doesn't wanna be there. He eats because he's unhappy and he's unhappy because he eats. It's a vicious cycle. Here with Jalen and our fun team, he'd have the time of his life. Just turning 22. At 100% is easily a level above the top prospects from this years draft. I haven't given up on Zion because even fat Zion is ridiculous. An anomaly in the matrix.
Zion has missed 160 plus games in 3 years. Its much too risky we can't tie up cap room on a guy who is out 2/3 of the time.
Well, our owner has a bunch of restaurants so that would give him incentive to sign on for the free food. All kidding aside, with his history there is no way I’d max him out with guaranteed money.
The Rockets are a last-place team lol, if we get a second potential star in this draft the next step is a third star or free-agent pickup. A three-year contract tailored for injury protection but you absolutely do it.
