It makes sense. When Worrell retired, no one was left to say, "Armoni on the Money!" so his services are no longer needed. Sucks though
DJ should have been waived. He has a non guaranteed contract next year and is absolutely redundant with gaining Schroeder who will be gone at the end of the season, if not before. You do realize that waiving Garuba is like you starting a job and getting fired 3 days later because you suck at it, but you haven't been trained at all. You would seriously waive a first round draft pick who has played 105 minutes?
Even if Worrell was still here, you'd rarely hear it. The guy was shooting 30% from 3 and shooting 3's was what he was about the only thing he was supposed to be able to do. Of course he'll probably be shooting 40%+ somewhere else because that's Rockets tradition.
Haha yeah, I cant wait for him to sign with the Lakers and go 6/6 from 3 in some big game. Also, Garry Bird took his job.
Brooks and Augustin should be on teams they can potentially contribute to. The Rockets are just concerned with flexibility for the summer of 2023. The rebuild plan may be to sign and or trade for two max free agents next summer.
Stone having to fix his mistake cost us a very young solid role player specialist on a good contract who has some value. Not to mention the fact that now he’s going to have issues with Wall and maybe Gordon being frustrated they have to sit a half year when both guys did the right thing FOR HIM and as a reward they didn’t get traded like I’m sure they were promised or told they’d move mountains to get done, and only options are getting bought out and taking a pay cut. Both those guys are going to have issue with Stone and conversations behind closed doors are going to get ugly. This guy is notching up losses very quickly in a young career as a GM. I wouldn’t be shocked if a lot of the big agents will be reaching out to Tillman in order to make a case to help him right this ship.
Maybe nobody wanted to give up any kind of asset to get him? Zero defence 30% 3pt shooters aren't rare
Nah bro Armoni was the greatest player ever that’s why he wasn’t even catching minutes on the worst team in the league now we can transition to… if only we had Armoni brooks how great would this roster be ?!?!
I think you have armoni confused with Nwaba whose been sitting on the bench literally. Armoni actually gets off it and gets into the actual game
I thought DJ was a calming presence on the court when he touched the basketball. I liked his chemistry with Sengun especially. Don't know much about Schroder but my impression is that he's a Beta that thinks he's an Alpha, and I'm worried that he's going to chase stats/next year's paycheck at the expense of the team's long-term growth.
We have removed 3 players, Thiess, Brooks and Augustin. After waiving Freedom, we have added Shroeder and Bruno. There is one open roster spot if they don't waive Bruno and two if they waive him.
Good luck to both! Personally think there's a good chance Brooks winds up a sniper off the bench WITH consistent playing time. It's a beautiful day. Positive vibes!
lol. Neither DJ nor Brooks were worth a damn. Armoni is a shooter who can't shoot (30%) DJ is 5'2 and a liability on the defensive end and 34, so not an option for either rebuilding nor contending teams.
