Why do you think POR would be trying to add Grant? Don't see the play here after basically dumping salary of CJ, Powell, Roco to clear space for offseason reload around Same Any addition of Grant seems like it would work against that plan
Maybe they think Grant is more appealing player/contract to make an offseason trade than any of the contracts they just unloaded? He certainly doesn't make them a contender as Dame's #2 anymore than CJ did ...
Basically what ch44 said… https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-rum...hield-malcolm-brogdon-tj-warren-torrey-craig/ The Utah Jazz expressed interest in trading for Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon, league sources told HoopsHype. Utah has dangled the expiring contract of Joe Ingles, who is out for the rest of the season, and a first-round pick around the league in search of an upgrade. Now, the Jazz must replace Ingles altogether. The Rockets are seeking a first-round pick in trade talks for Gordon, as reported on HoopsHype in mid-January. An expiring contract could also appeal to Houston, with Gordon currently owed $19.57 million next season. Before the Cavaliers acquired Caris LeVert, and the Pelicans acquired CJ McCollum, both teams expressed interest and had trade discussions regarding Gordon. Gordon, 33, is shooting a career-high 49.1 percent from the field with a 60 percent effective field goal percentage.
That would be a good deal. I feel like Denver's #17 pick is a good target. Those guys need help right now and don't need anything in the future. Eric Gordon and Daniel Theis could help them a lot right now. Memphis at #23 not bad either, I think they will be closer to #20 by the end of the season.
You can't trade consecutive picks Their 2024 pick is owed to the Thunder The soonest pick they can trade is 2026, at that point Mitchell and Gobert may have walked, Jazz would likely ensure its a highly protected pick. Considering the Jazz already have Mitchell, Clarkson, Conley, Bogdan, O'Neal, Gay, it's not like they have a huge need for Eric. EG would also cost them substantial luxury tax as they'd be taking on an additional 4 million for a Ingles/EG swap If the Jazz are our only option, I'd be prepared for Azubukie or Butler and a couple of 2nds
Expect to be disappointed…just like last year. Theis is gone and Augustine as well. Gordon maybe, just do to the fake injury this week. That’s it folks. Not going to get a haul for any of those three. Maybe a late first or swap and a couple seconds with cash consideration. Only goal for this team is to end season as 3rd worst in the league so we have a shot at skinny legged Holmgram.
That’s what makes it weird, imo. Turner was actually the rare elite shot blocker who could also stretch the floor a bit. Who’s a better fit next to Sabonis than that? Maybe Chet Holmgren? Evan Mobley? I actually like both Fox and Mitchell quite a bit, but they’re not good shooters — also not great next to Sabonis (meanwhile, they shipped their elite shooter out). Halliburton was an awesome return for the Pacers. Banchero would actually be a great fit for them next to Turner up front if they can land high enough to get him.
If you don’t have any expectations then you can’t be disappointed. Let’s live by those words this trade deadline.
