A thread started to rehash Harden drama has been successful...what a surprise. Slow news day on here.
From a business/career perspective hard to disagree with this. NYC and LAL are the places where you can really market yourself and that’s the unfortunate truth. He’s going to win rings there, get paid the same as he was here since he’s under contract, and anything he gives up in future contracts he’ll make up for in endorsements. How many of you would turn down the opportunity to make at least the same at a larger company with much better opportunity for personal promotion/your side hustle?
The irony of a JaGOF posting a Harden thread in the GARM who b****es about Harden, when the article was already posted in the DISH where it actually belongs
Hey since so many devalue him as a player due to the failure to win a championship i.e that is virtually all that counts I feel fine with his move. I am still a James Harden fan and hope that if the Rockets don't win it all the Nets do. As far as James making more money by going to NYC I just hope he uses the money for the benefit of the 99% not just useless ultra luxuries.
I don't say this to be mean to Harden or anything, but he has a decently weak "brand size" for his caliber of player and i don't think it has anything to do with market. He's not a super likeable superstar. And at the same time, he's not a super hateable superstar. He's just kind of meh as a personality.... to me. Maybe just being in NYC will bring more opportunity - you would think it should - but James Harden the mega businessman is not something i really think about too much.
Putting THE GREAT WALL CHAIRMAN YAO . . in the same sentences as . . .. . . .. Annis!! HOW DARE YOU!!!! Rocket River almost have to block a MFER!!!! lol
Not offended at all. It just confirms the fact that big markets do have an advantage in attracting players.
Harden left because we sucked. If the roster was better, and yes some of that is on him, he’d still be in Houston. The other stuff sounds like garbage.
Business really??? doesn't he have ownership in the Dynamo amongst other successful businesses around Houston.. Didn't he explode into superstardom just fine here with all his business endeavors. Adidas.Trolli candy etc. GQ magazine with Russ even State Farm when CP3 was here. Market??? isn't he from LA a market just as big as NY lame excuse. He can justify his temper tantrum all he wants. Super glad he's not a Rocket anymore. Regular season Gawd postseason Fraud. 2nd best Rocket ever no one cares about the 2nd best no chips just excuses. Go Rox!
he left houston because he didn't want to be a tank commander he chose brooklyn over other teams for his business/brand
So it’s just a coincidence that free agent built superteams only form in NYC, LA, SF, MIA but never form in well run organizations that aren’t sexy cities? Kawhi literally left a championship team in an undesirable city just to start something in so cal
