you must of been the same person who b****ed about when we traded harden for Oladipo and all those first instead of keeping Allen and Levert .. YOU HAVE TO THINK BIG PICTURE..(wouldnt have gotten Green if we went the other route) this is a rebuild and we need to develop are guys and keep the cap space open for 2023
Nwaba is better than Brown! He is a good finisher at the rim while able to space himself from his defenders, plays better defense and just better IQ for the game while being unselfish. I think it is a solid signing and he complements well with offensive-minded guards like Green & KPJ. I preferred Olynyk as well but I simply have no clue on Theis to make a comparison. From highlights, he seems not as good on the offensive end but better on defense than Olynyk.
Looking at their roster just now the Heat appear to have too many guys born in the 1980’s to be very good anymore. Kyle Lowry turns 36 next season as well.
Losing Olynyk and signing Theis was about saving while rebuilding, but also about not taking shots away from our young, developing core.
Stone is right because we're still trying to tank. People who really believe we can build a championship roster after one season of tanking are hilarious.
You guys do realize we aren’t competing for at least the next two years minimum right? I’m actually baffled that people are pissed about this signing. We get a decent defensive minded vet who can teach our young bigs as well as set an example for the other young players. I repeat WE AREN’T COMPETING FOR NEXT TWO YEARS MINIMUM.
WRONG WE GOT NO PICKS IN THE OLADIPO FOR LEVERT TRADE You are the one missing the big picture. Allen is 23 years old and is exactly the type of center you want to pair with a 21 KPJ and 19 Jalen green. Oladipo and olynk were zeros in terms of assets. We got absolutely nothing from them. And this league is all about maximizing assets. THAT is how you properly rebuild
Wrong call? The heck are you even talking about? We’re not winning the chip next year nor going to the playoffs. We’re going to suck again which is intentional. Wake up and save our time from reading useless short minded threads like this. Stone (and his team) are smarter than you and me.
so you are telling me you would rather Allen over Green? cause your missing my point... we wouldnt of gotten green. Also we did get mutiple first round draft pics from the nets
We got a pick swap between MIA and BKN from the Oladipo trade though. That could turn into something.
we were already getting those picks from the nets... You are basing this on a hypothetical that we still wouldnt be one of the worst teams in the league. How would you know we wouldnt have drafted green? Detroit finished AHEAD of us and got the number 1 pick. Levert coming back a life threatening surgery probably would have sat the season on a tanking team. Allen, as much upside as he has, probably would not have been a difference maker either
Actually I think they are just hoping Christian wood bulks up enough to play Center for us. I really hope Wood is bulking up right now!
I agree and so I'm not really sweating it. But we should still use our MLE, and exceptions and bird rights whenever we can to get players that we can trade for picks mid season. Trust me man, I'm full pro tank but you never waste an opportunity to add an asset. You never know when you need that last extra piece to trade up in the draft. If we're just looking for someone with "trade to a contender mid season" upside, I think Olynyk easily trumps Theiss. I'm sure Rafael knows all this.
