It's true. The NBA would be going crazy if Luka was having this type of post seaosn. Instead, they call Trae a villain.
refs tried to do what they could (scott foster finally calling a foul for a team but only so he can waive off a made 3 felt like 2018 game 7), but philly actually overcame it, despite their usual 4th quarter offense.
Hey, at least Ben's got a sense of the moment! It was game 6 and he acted accordingly. He scored 6 points on 2 - 6 from the field and he was number 6 on his team in scoring. (Is that the mark of the beast?) And just to make sure no one can say he dibn't break into double figures again he was 10th (out of 10) on the 76'ers in +/-. Now THAT'S pretty beastly!
it's crazy. that one season embiid was out for the last 20+ games and simmons was playing he was dominating. if he was on the court with shooters, he couldn't be guarded. he either got them open shots or, if you backed off of him, he drove straight into you and used his height and physicality to get layups and floaters. now he was no confidency and i swear he seems less physically imposing, like he's smaller or something. just such a weird regression.
But they need a villain. They can no longer use Harden because he is now the prodigal son leading the Nets. So they have selected Trae, who has kind of welcomed that role with some of celebrations in NYC and they way he manufactures fouls like Harden's MO that pissed off opposing fans. Also, Trae has done this to a New York team and a Philly team; both cities that carry more media sway. It is a continuation of the WWE-ification of the NBA.
I don't follow the Hawks very much. Do their fans whine about media conspiracy against Trae like Rockets fans did about Harden?
Not sure if the ATL fans are complaining. But I'm in NYC, and fans and media here as well as national media have bought into the villain narrative. So much so that they are straight up asked him about it in post-game interviews and he has brought it on. The bowing and silencing the MSG crowd first brought it to light.
Must be the Kardashian curse taking hold after dating Kendall Jenner. Blake Griffin did get exiled to Detroit and turned into a shell of himself after dating her. Someone should warn Devin Booker before its too late.
But I do And of course, you do not, which is perfectly fine. Utah, yes with Mitchell and Conley slightly injured but a full roster, with a 25pt lead in their elimination game, as the #1 seat, lost to Clipper without their #1 player. Now, that fully qualifies as a choke job!
It's so weird how the general public loves Curry but hates Harden. Then, that same energy is used to antagonize Trae but praise Doncic.
